From an Autistic young man attempting to make friends in Wrigleyville bars to a single mother's desperate venture to realize the American Dream, Chicago Dramatists' 2015-2016 season features the world premieres of plays that aren't afraid to tackle complex, intense issues with bold story lines, sharp wit and emotional depth. Stocked with characters that challenge perceptions of people with developmental disabilities and uncover simple, poignant truths about family, BEAUTIFUL AUTISTIC by Scott Woldman will kick off the new season in February followed by AMERICAN BEAUTY SHOP by Dana Lynn Formby in May.
National Black Theatre Sets 47th Season

Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's NATIONAL BLACK THEATRE, the oldest continually operating black theater in New York, will present its 47th Annual Season of theatrical productions beginning in October. During the 2015 - 2016 season, the institution will present two New York City Premieres and a workshop production under the timely theme of 'The Policing of the Black Body.' Season Passes are $99 ($149 for VIP) and guarantee seats to all 3 productions and other special events happening within the 47th Season. Producing Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside and American Blues Theater, Chicago's second oldest Equity ensemble, are proud to announce the return of the critically acclaimed It's a Wonderful Life: Live in Chicago!, on the main stage of the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave., November 20 - December 27. 'Pink Previews,' where tickets sales benefit the Lynn Sage Foundation for breast cancer research, play November 20 - November 22 following the regular schedule. The press/opening night performance is Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 7:30p.m. The running time is approximately 90 minutes. Broken Nose Theatre Implements Pay-What-You-Can Policy

As they head into their fourth season, Broken Nose Theatre (BNT) is establishing itself as one of the city's first exclusively Pay-What-You-Can (PWYC) storefront theatre companies. Beginning in September, all performances of any BNT MainStage production will fall under their new "We Set the Stage, You Set the Price" initiative, placing the reins in the hands of their audience members.
