According to Entertainment Weekly, stage and screen star F. Murray Abraham has signed on to appear in the second season of Showtime's 'Homeland.' Abraham will star as 'a brilliant intelligence operative in his 60-70's. He has worked all over the world for the Special Activities Division of the CIA.'

SHOWTIME will unveil the highly-anticipated second season premiere of its Golden Globe®-winning and Emmy® Award nominated hit series HOMELAND at an evening affair on the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City on Friday, September 7. The invitation-only premiere screening and reception, presented by Time Warner Cable, will roll out the red carpet for the show's star-studded cast, dignitaries and New York elite. This occasion marks the first entertainment event held in the new home to the historic Space Shuttle Enterprise. As reported today in Israeli press, the Golden Globe and Peabody award-winning SHOWTIME drama series HOMELAND kicked off production for its second season this week in Israel and had a surprise guest visit the set on Tuesday - Real-life POW and Israeli hero Gilad Shalit.

SHOWTIME has put together a powerful one-two punch on Sundays this fall with the premieres of its top-rated drama series' DEXTER and HOMELAND.
