From the powerhouse theater of Steppenwolf to the experimental dance of BONEdanse to the quirky stylings of Noah Ginex Puppet Company, BOM brings children's stories to life in an innovative way. 'Chicago's Weird, Grandma' is a new spin on the BOM classic 'That's Weird, Grandma' on Mondays, October 8 through December 17 at 8 p.m. at the Neo-Futurarium, 5153 N. Ashland. 500 Clown Theatre, founded in 2000, presents "500 Clown Frankenstein" just in time for Halloween, offering a clowns-eye view of creation and abandonment, for a limited run at Chicago's Viaduct Theatre. The production runs about 70 minutes with no intermission, is for ages eight and up, and offers a special ticket discount for returning audience members.

This summer, Barrel of Monkeys (BOM) transforms its classic 'That's Weird, Grandma' in to 'That's Weird, Abuelita' (TWA) featuring stories in Spanish, English and through movement, Wednesdays and Saturdays, tonight, July 25 through August 18 at the Logan Square Arts Center, 2800 N. Milwaukee Ave., second floor. TWA is appropriate for all ages and speakers of any language. BOM Artistic Director Molly Brennan and Emilio Williams are co-directors.
