On Thursday, July 11, I had the pleasure of seeing the Connecticut debut of Molly Smith Metzler's emotionally intense dark comedy CRY IT OUT, as put on by Thrown Stone at the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance in Ridgefield, CT.  Thrown Stone is yet again masterfully performing a production that immediately grips the attention of the audience, stimulates the mind, touches the emotions, and captivates us with the story line, drawing us right in, in such an intimate setting that it makes us feel as if we are eyewitnesses to actual events. 

Brian Stokes Mitchell is a man of many talents. He's a stage and film veteran with the most glorious baritone voice. The gifted actor took the stage at Feinstein's/54 Below on his own for the first time this month with a concert of songs, mainly from his forthcoming album PLAYING WITH MUSIC.

Under the direction of Corey Mitchell, Theatre Charlotte delivers one of their best productions in the past 30, with Joe McCourt delivering a Broadway-caliber performance as Huey Calhoun, the heart of MEMPHIS.

Tales of Joni: The Storefront Sings Mitchell--featuring stars such as Liz McCartney, Jeff Blumenkrantz and Brandon Cutrell--will be presented on Sundays, April 23rd and 30th at 7pm at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre
