BWW Exclusive: Hugh Panaro and Norm Lewis to Star in LES MISERABLES at the Muny July 15 - 21; Highly Anticipated Cast Announced!

The Muny announced principal casting for the fifth show of its fantastic 95th season, Les Miserables. Broadway veterans Hugh Panaro and Norm Lewis make their Muny debuts starring as Jean Valjean and Javert, respectively. Also starring is Michael McCormick as Thenardier. The production is directed by Richard Jay-Alexander, who served as the associate director and executive producer of the original Broadway, touring and Canadian companies of Les Miserables.

As previously announced, John O'Hurley will star as King Arthur. Also starring will be Michelle Ragusa as The Lady of the Lake, Kevin Cahoon as Historian, John Scherer as Sir Robin, David Hibbard as Patsy, Chris Hoch as Sir Lancelot, Ben Davis as Sir Dennis Galahad, and Tally Sessions as Dennis' Mother/Sir Bedevere. Joining them will be broadcast legend Bob Costas as The Voice of God.

Harvey Fierstein to Emcee SDC Gala Honoring Jerry Mitchell, 5/13

Acclaimed Director/Choreographer Jerry Mitchell will be honored with the 2013 'Mr. Abbott' Award for his outstanding artistry and creativity and breadth of his thirty-year career. The award will be presented at a gala event at B.B. King on Monday, May 13, 2013, from 7 - 10pm, with four-time Tony Award-winning playwright and actor Harvey Fierstein, a frequent collaborator of Jerry Mitchell, to emcee.

BRING IT ON Cast Album Gets 9/25 Digital Release!

Universal Pictures Stage Productions/Glenn Ross, Beacon Communications/Armyan Bernstein & Charlie Lyons and Executive Producers Kristin Caskey and Mike Isaacson are pleased to announce the release of the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Bring It On: The Musical. The album, produced by Ghostlight Records and available on Back Lot Music, will be released for digital download on iTunes beginning September 25, 2012 and in stores October 16, 2012. The cast of Bring It On recorded the album at MSR Studios in New York City on August 9, 10 and 16, 2012 under the direction of Album Producers Alex Lacamoire, Tom Kitt and Kurt Deutsch.

Photo Flash: TRACES Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

TRACES, the show that turns circus on its head, will conclude its New York engagement September 2, 2012, to embark on a European tour this fall. Created by the Montreal-based troupe 7 Fingers, TRACES has been playing the Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street) since July 2011. Originally intended as a 10-week limited engagement, the show opened to rave reviews, shifted to an open-ended run and, by the time of its final performance, will have played New York for over a year. Last night, August 9, the show celebrated its one-year anniversary. Check out photos from the event below!
