York Theatre Company to Open Fall NEO Reading Series with WHEN WE MET, 10/21

The York Theatre Company launches the Fall developmental NEO Reading Series with the new musical, When We Met, with Book by Dan Collins, and Music & Lyrics byJulianne Wick Davis, based on an original concept by Julianne Wick Davis, Sally Wilfert and Michael Winther. Directed by Philip Himberg and with music direction by Charity Wicks, the two-member cast stars Sally Wilfert and Michael Winther.

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director, and Tristan Wilson, Managing Director, presents the BSC Musical Theatre Lab (William Finn Artistic Producer) world premiere production of Southern Comfort, a new musical with book and lyrics by Dan Collins and music by Julianne Wick Davis, directed by Thomas Caruso (Associate Director of Broadway's Matilda).

In this intimate venue, transformed for the summer theatre season, audience members will take an up-close and personal journey with Broadway-accredited actors, and will be among the first to witness the piece brought to full production.

Sundance Institute just presented playwright and Sundance Institute Theatre Lab alum Branden Jacobs-Jenkins with the first-ever Tennessee Williams Award from the Institute's Theatre Program, which supports the development of new work for the stage. Sundance Institute Emeritus Trustee Sally Field presented the honor and accompanying $10,000 grant at the Celebrate Sundance Institute benefit for its Theatre Program last night at Stephan Weiss Studio in Greenwich Village.
