Carnegie Hall Notables Presents The 15th Annual NOTABLE OCCASION

On Tuesday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m., Nicola and Beatrice Bulgari and the Carnegie Hall Notables-a membership and ticket program for music enthusiasts in their 20s and 30s-will host the 15th Annual Notable Occasion. This private performance in Zankel Hall for Carnegie Hall Notables and special guests features Carnegie Hall Perspectives artist pianist Yuja Wang in recital with Andreas Ottensamer, principal clarinetist of the legendary Berliner Philharmoniker. After the exclusive concert, Notables gather at Brasserie 8 ½ for a cocktail reception. The 15th Annual Notable Occasion is generously underwritten by Nicola and Beatrice Bulgari.

The American Youth Symphony (AYS) returns to the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Sounds About Town concert series, partnering with the National Children's Chorus (NCC). NPR's From The Top To Convene In LA For Three Day Residency

From the Top (FTT), the nationwide program distributed by NPR that showcases young classically-trained musicians, will host a three-day residency in Los Angeles culminating in two studio recordings of the popular radio show.

Tulsa Opera Announces 2019/2020 Season

General Director Ken McConnell and Artistic Director Tobias Picker today announced Tulsa Opera's 72nd season comprising classics such as Bizet's Carmen and Puccini's Madama Butterfly, and a new production of Mr. Picker's 1996 opera Emmeline, to be performed in Oklahoma for the first time, and led by Mr. Picker in his opera-conducting debut.

Organist Paul Jacobs To Give American Premiere Of Deutsch's OKEANOS With Cleveland Orchestra

Grammy Award-winning organist Paul Jacobs has been invited to appear as soloist with the Cleveland Orchestra and Music Director Franz Welser-Most, to give the highly anticipated American premiere of Bernd Richard Deutsch's Okeanos, Concerto for organ and orchestra. Performances are slated for Thursday evening, March 14, 2019 at 7:30 pm; Friday evening, March 15, 2019 at 8 pm; Saturday evening, March 16, 2019 at 8 pm; and Sunday afternoon, March 17, 2019 at 3 pm at Severance Hall, 11001 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, OH 44106.

WNO Stages EUGENE ONEGIN At KenCen Opera House

With dances, duels, and orchestration delights, Washington National Opera brings the emotional and melodic Eugene Onegin back to the Kennedy Center Opera House after a more than 30-year absence from its repertoire. Eugene Onegin is a multi-faceted masterpiece combining the artistic prowess of two Russian luminaries: Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky's music and libretto based on Alexander Pushkin's celebrated poem. A tale of rejection and regret, Eugene Onegin explores a society divided between rural austerity and aristocratic extravagance as maturity shifts desires-once devastated by his refusal of her youthful affections, Tatiana rebuffs Onegin's newfound proposal upon his return years later. Complete with lush period costumes and majestic ballroom scenes,Eugene Onegin is performed in Russian with projected English titles. Performances run March 9-29 with tickets starting at $45.

World renowned composer and conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen will conduct the Colburn Orchestra at The Soraya on Thursday, January 31 at 8 p.m. The program features Strauss tone poems the playful Til Eulenspiegel and grand Also sprach Zarathustra as well as Mozart's Clarinet Concerto performed by Cristina Mateo S ez, a Colburn Conservatory student and Jacques Lancelot International Clarinet Competition prizewinner.

The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, returns to Carnegie Hall for four concerts in March in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. The first two programs, conducted by Ádam Fischer, include Bartok's Two Pictures and Beethoven's Leonore Overture No. 3 and Symphony No. 3, "Eroica" on Saturday, March 2 at 8:00 p.m. Maestro Fisher returns the following afternoon, Sunday, March 3 at 2:00 p.m. with Haydn's Symphony No. 97 and Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5, 'Turkish' featuring Leonidas Kavakos along with Mozart's Symphony No. 41, "Jupiter."
