Asolo Repertory Theatre (Asolo Rep) proudly introduces the artists of its 2010-2011 repertory season; including participation from guest artists, Asolo Rep Associate Artists and the graduating class of the Florida State University/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training. Rehearsals are underway for La Bête, Twelve Angry Men, and Boeing Boeing, which open on January 7, 14, and 21, respectively.

The starry concert features musical theatre legend and Bonnie & Clyde composer Frank Wildhorn at the piano, starring Rob Evan and Laura Osnes, with Marlyn Sanchez, and Jack Murphy; singing songs from Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Wonderland, Bonnie & Clyde and more.

Asolo Repertory Theatre's production of Bonnie & Clyde opened on November 19. Jay Handelman reports in today's Herald-Tribune that the show is heading next to Broadway in August of 2011. The article reports that: 'We're planning to go to Broadway in August. We're going to Broadway, absolutely,' said Jerry Frankel, a veteran Broadway producer who is partnered with Jeffrey Richards. They are represented on Broadway by 'Bloody Blood Andrew Jackson,' 'The Merchant of Venice' with Al Pacino and 'A Life in the Theatre.'
Asolo Rep Announces Evening With Frank Wildhorn 12/21

Asolo Repertory Theatre today announced adding a new title to its Asolo Rep Extras series, An Intimate Evening with Frank Wildhorn & Friends. The starry concert features composer Frank Wildhorn at the piano along with some of Broadway's finest voices. Further details will be announced soon. The show, to be held on December 21st at 8 p.m. in the Mertz Theatre, replaces the Holiday concert originally scheduled. Details and prices will soon be released latter this month. The theatre is joins other Sarasota companies and non-profits to participate in TagSRQ, an area economic development initiative designed to drive new business via mobile phones. Asolo Rep has partnered with Community Haven, Easter Seals of Southwest Florida, Bayshore High School and the Oak Park School to expand the acclaimed Kaleidoscope program, which has for more than 15 years offered a specialized summer program of musical theatre workshops for developmentally disabled adults and teens.
