Racially-Charged Drama DETROIT BLUES Gets NYC Reading at Shetler Studios

The new racially-charged drama Detroit Blues announces their 29 hour reading, which will be directed by Obie award-winning Leah C. Gardiner (Public Theater, Soho Rep), written by Patrice Cassedy, with casting by Tara Rubin Casting. The readings will be held at Theatre 54 at Shetler Studios (244 West 54th Street - 12 Floor) on Friday, March 10th at 12pm and 3:00pm.

GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER, FAMILIAR, THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA MCBRIDE and More on Tap for Guthrie Theater's 2017-18 Season

The Guthrie Theater today announced seven of the nine productions to be offered as part of the theater's 2017-2018 subscription season, including Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Todd Kreidler's Guess Who's Coming to Dinner on the Wurtele Thrust Stage, and Lillian Hellman's Watch on the Rhine, Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, Danai Gurira's Familiar, Kia Corthron's world premiere adaptation of Ibsen's An Enemy of the People and Matthew Lopez's The Legend of Georgia McBride on the McGuire Proscenium Stage.

Cast Complete, Rehearsals Underway for Broadway's SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION

Rehearsals began this week for the revival of John Guare's critically acclaimed play Six Degrees of Separation starring seven-time Emmy Award winner Allison Janney ('Mom,' The Girl on the Train) as Ouisa, Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart, 'Manhattan') as Flan and Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton, '24: Legacy') as Paul. Directed by Trip Cullman (Significant Other, Yen), Six Degrees of Separation will begin previews Wednesday, April 5 prior to the official opening on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Barrymore Theatre. The production will play a 15-week run through Sunday, July 16.

Two extraordinary actresses return to Manhattan Theatre Club in a vibrant new production of Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes. In a thrilling coup, MTC will present three-time Tony Award nominee Laura Linney (Time Stands Still, Sight Unseen) and Tony winner Cynthia Nixon (Rabbit Hole, Wit), who will alternate playing the roles of Regina and Birdie, appearing opposite each other at each performance. Lillian Hellman's legendary play about greed and ambition is set in Alabama in 1900, and follows Regina Giddens and her ruthless clan, including her sister-in-law Birdie, as they clash in often brutal ways in an effort to strike the deal of their lives. Far from a sentimental look at a bygone era, the play has a surprisingly timely resonance with important issues facing our country today. Tony winner Daniel Sullivan (Proof, Rabbit Hole) will direct.

ALL THE FINE BOYS, Starring Abigail Breslin, Opens Tonight Off-Broadway

The New Group presents the world premiere of All the Fine Boys, a new play from writer and director Erica Schmidt, featuring Abigail Breslin, Isabelle Fuhrman, Joe Tippett and Alex Wolff. The show opens tonight, March 1, for a limited Off-Broadway engagement playing through March 26 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (Ford Foundation Studio Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).

Rush Ticket Policy Will Continue Through Run SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE

Hot off last week's historic opening night, the producers of Sunday in the Park with George are pleased to announce the show will continue to offer a limited number of tickets $41 each, to celebrate the re-opening of Hudson Theatre as it becomes Broadway's 41st theater.  All $41 tickets will be available at Hudson Theatre box office (139-141 West 44th Street) on the day of the performance when the box office opens.

A WONDER IN MY SOUL World Premiere Extends at Victory Gardens

Artistic Director Chay Yew and Managing Director Erica Daniels announce a one-week extension to the World Premiere, hit production of A Wonder In My Soul, written by ensemble playwright Marcus Gardley and directed by Chay Yew, with music direction by Jaret Landon. A Wonder In My Soul will now run through March 19, 2017 at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

Independent Shakespeare Co. presents West Coast Premiere of THE SNOW GEESE

Independent Shakespeare Co.
