Weekend Movie Box Office Update: April 9 - April 11, 2010

THROUGH THE NIGHT, a solo play written and performed by Obie-Award winner Daniel Beaty, will open off Broadway at The Riverside Theatre, 91 Claremont Avenue on Friday, May 7th (Previews begin on May 4th). THROUGH THE NIGHT, recently premiered as a co-production with the Crossroads Theatre (New Brunswick, NJ) and The Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles to great acclaim.

Queens Theatre in the Park (QTP) presents 3 Mo' Divas, on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 8pm at Queens College in Colden Auditorium, 65-30 Kissena Blvd., Flushing, NY. Tickets are $40 and $38 and are available through the Colden Auditorium Box Office at 718-793-8080. Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey is the series media sponsor.

Celebrating the life and work of Broadway Veterans BJ Crosby & Adrian Bailey, this exciting evening will feature performances by Broadway's Chuck Cooper, Marva Hicks, Ebony Jo-Ann, Tina Fabrique, Alyson Williams, The Broadway Boys, Chester Gregory, Multi Award Winning Recording Artist Tonex (currently spelled: 'TON3X') and many more on Monday, November 3rd at The Schomburg Center For Research in Black Culture located in Harlem.

Playwright Charles Messina returns for this Spring's Shortened Attention Span Baseball Festival with his semi-autobiographical one-act, Klepto, to open a limited run as part of the Festival and runs opening week, March 6-9. Show times Thursday through Saturday at 8PM; Sunday at 3PM. The Players Theatre is located at 115 MacDougal Street

Former 'Sopranos' star Jason Cerbone will appear in Charles Messina's new play Merging that will debut at The Players Theatre in Manhattan in October as part of the theatre's Shortened Attention Span Horror Festival.

Taking the chill out of the arctic blast was Evidence Dance Company's annual Grace in Winter Gala, chaired by art world legend Lowery Stokes Sims, former president of the internationally acclaimed Studio Museum in Harlem and longtime curator of Modern Art at the Metropolitan Museum.

The New Group has extended its revival of Wallace Shawn's The Fever through March 9th.
