Casting is set for the debut of Lyrics & Lyricists Downtown, the new L<M series at 92YTribeca, the 92nd Street Y's downtown arts and culture venue. The premiere one-night-only performance and conversation on Monday, April 19 features the Tony Award-winning songwriting team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

Southbend Civic Theatre will close its production of SEUSSICAL! THE MUSICAL on April 12 at Century Center's Civix Theatre.

The Kennedy Center will end its production of Terrence McNally's The Lisbon Traviata on April 11th. The play starred Malcolm Gets as Stephen, John Glover as Mendy, and Chris Hartl as Paul.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) will close its production of the World Premiere of A COOL DIP IN THE BARREN SAHARAN CRICK, a new play by Kia Corthron (Breath, Boom at Playwrights Horizons/PH, Force Continuum) and directed by Obie Award winner Chay Yew (Durango at The Public), on April 11th.

The Chicago Park District's 58th annual Theater on the Lake season features reprisals of eight artistically diverse Chicago theater companies June 16 - Aug. 8, 2010. The season opens with The Second City's 50th Anniversary Revue (June 16-20) and continues with popular productions by Bohemian Theatre Ensemble (June 23-27), A Red Orchid Theatre (June 30-July 4), Baby Wants Candy (July 7-11), Strawdog Theatre Company (July 14-18), Rivendell Theatre Company (July 21-25), The Gift Theatre Company (July 28 - Aug. 1), and Caffeine Theatre (Aug. 4-8).

Famed Playwright Terrence McNally, who has been writing about gay issues for a good portion of his prolific career, wed his longtime boyfriend, Broadway producer and lawyer Tom Kirdahy, 46, in Washington D.C. yesterday, April 6, 2010 along the Potomac River. Washington D.C. just recently legalized same-sex marriage.

The Kennedy Center will end its run of Golden Age, a new play by Terrence McNally, on April 4th. Following its world premiere with the Philadelphia Theatre Company ran in the Kennedy Center Family Theater as part of Terrence McNally's Nights at the Opera, a five-week event featuring three of the playwright's works performed concurrently on three Kennedy Center stages.
