Four-time Grammy award winner Dianne Reeves will headline the 16th Annual Penumbra Jazz Jam, presented by Target, on Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. at The Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant. Featuring Master of Ceremony T. Mychael Rambo, the fundraiser will include a special appearance by Dennis W. Spears and Sanford Moore. Guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner by Dakota Chef Jack Riebel. All proceeds from the evening's silent and live auctions will benefit Penumbra's Summer Institute Scholarship Fund. Bellamy Balcony seats are $125 per person. Only a few remain. Guthrie Director Joe Dowling today announced the plays of the Theater's 2010-2011 mainstage season. Highlighting the work of artists both local and international, the season ranges from the world premiere by a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright to classic works by Shakespeare and Shaw.

Penumbra Theatre Company, the nation's preeminent African American theatre, proudly announces the opening of Two Old Black Guys Just Sitting Around Talking, by Gus Edwards, directed by Lou Bellamy on Thursday, April 29, 2010. The production will run April 29 - May 23, 2010.

Arizona Theatre Company creates the most thrilling professional theatre in the Southwest in 2010-2011, with electric moments of pure beauty, magic and deeply felt emotion in a mix of comedy, drama, classics and musicals. The new season opens with the Southwest premiere of the musical BACKWARDS IN HIGH HEELS, about the journey of Hollywood goddess Ginger Rogers; followed by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning playwright August Wilson's MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM, directed by Lou Bellamy and starring renowned recording artist Jevetta Steele as Ma Rainey. ATC's new season follows with the Arizona premiere of WOODY GUTHRIE'S AMERICAN SONG, directed by ATC favorite Randal Myler, followed by the world premiere of Jeffrey Hatcher's TEN CHIMNEYS set at the legendary summer estate of Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. Neil Simon's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play LOST IN YONKERS continues ATC's AMERICA PLAYS! BLACK PEARL SINGS By Frank Higgins and directed by Lou Bellamy will end its regional premiere at the Penumbra Theatre on March 14th.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced its 2010-2011 theater programming.
