Students from two south London schools are to show their newly created portraits at the National Portrait Gallery at a special private view on Thursday 7 January 2016. Inspired by the Gallery's current critically acclaimed exhibition Giacometti: Pure Presence, the portraits are the result of a creative workshop collaboration between the Gallery and Oak Lodge School for students with hearing, speech, language and communication needs in Wandsworth, and Drumbeat School and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Service in Brockley.

Arnold Scaasi, Canadian fashion designer who created ensembles for the rich and famous, died yesterday, August 4, 2015. He was 85. Scaasi crafted one of his most recognized, and perhaps infamous, outfits for stage and screen star Barbra Streisand. She wore it to the 1969 Academy Awards, where she won the Oscar for her performance in the film FUNNY GIRL. We remember the iconic fashion designer below:
