Legendary singer/songwriter/poet Leonard Cohen will kick off the North American leg of his "Old Ideas World Tour 2012" at Bass Concert Hall in Austin, TX on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. The tour, promoted by AEG Live, includes a new live show and celebrates Cohen's highly acclaimed twelfth studio album, Old Ideas, which debuted at #1 across the globe, and is the highest charting album of his career.

Philip Glass, one of America's most esteemed composers, will be the subject of a remix project due October 23 on Orange Mountain Music. The idea for the record came together during a conversation between Philip and his friend and new collaborator Beck. The pair recruited producer Hector Castillo (David Bowie, Bjork, Lou Reed) to help assemble a collection of remixes of Glass' works by a list of critically acclaimed artists including Beck himself, Tyondai Braxton, Amon Tobin, Cornelius, Johann Johannsson, Nosaj Thing, Memory Tapes, Silver Alert and many others.

His family announced his death at age 66. A private funeral mass is planned. WFUV (90.7 FM, wfuv.org) will offer an on-air celebration of his life and career on Saturday, May 5 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Barb Jungr's acclaimed all-Bob Dylan show, "Man in the Long Black Coat," returns to the Metropolitan Room for an expanded three-week run from April 10 to 28. "Man in the Long Black Coat," which premiered in October was also chosen as Time Out NY's #1 top live cabaret act for 2011.
In April the Metropolitan Room will bring back Barb Jungr's widely acclaimed all-Bob Dylan show, "Man in the Long Black Coat," for a three-week theatrical run from April 10 to 28.
Over 20 years in the making, singer songwriter Glen Hansard will release his first ever solo album, Rhythm and Repose, on Anti- Records June 19. Best known for his work with The Frames, The Swell Season and in the feature film Once, for which he won an Academy Award, Rhythm and Repose is Hansard's debut solo album and first album of new material since his 2009 release Strict Joy with The Swell Season. The album will be available for pre-sale at the Anti Store.
In recent months Hansard has been seen in the documentary The Swell Season which has toured the film festival circuit this year, contributed two songs to the blockbuster soundtrack, The Hunger Games, and been active in the promotion of Once, The Musical which successfully opened on Broadway on March 18. Men Alive - The Orange County Gay Men's Chorus continues its successful 11th Season with POP GOES THE OPERA, a high-concept concert experience that blends two musical styles--Classic Opera and Contemporary Pop music--on the same stage. The concert event opens Friday, March 30 at the Irvine Barclay Theatre with two additional shows on Saturday, March 31. The genre mash-up includes selections from Lady Gaga, Verdi, Madonna, Puccini, Annie Lennox, plus a full, live-action re-enactment of the Warner Bros. cartoon classic 'What's Opera, Doc?'
On June 5, Bond will release an album joined by pianist and producer Thomas Bartlett (Doveman), and covering songs by Ronee Blakley, Kate Bush, Leonard Cohen, Tracy Chapman, Joni Mitchell, Mark Eitzel and Brecht & Weill, among others. Bond will perform material from the album in a six-week residency (June 4-July 9) at the new Studio 54 cabaret venue, 54 Below.
