MoMA PS1's FORTY Opens This Weekend

MoMA PS1 presents FORTY, an exhibition celebrating the institution's 40th anniversary, organized by P.S.1's founder, Alanna Heiss. The exhibition features work by 40 artists who were key participants in the 1970s alternative art spaces movement and the early years of P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center.

BWW Dance Review: PENNSYLVANIA BALLET Presents 'Balachine and Beyond'

"Balanchine and Beyond," the Pennsylvania Ballet's strangely named program that I saw Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Merriam Theater in Philadelphia, was a very satisfying evening. Of course, beyond can mean anything, so the choice of Trisha Brown, Hans van Manen and Jean-Pierre Frohlich was a very strange, or very apt, combination, depending on how you view and take your ballet. So I decided, if this is what they are presenting, I'll sit down and enjoy myself. And, for the most part, I did.

Rite of Summer Music Festival Announces 2016 Lineup on Governors Island

Lincoln Center Announces Out of Doors 2016 Lineup

Lincoln Center Out of Doors, one of the country's longest-running free outdoor summer festivals, opens this year on July 20 and runs through August 7, with a post-festival special event on August 13. In Lincoln Center's continuing commitment to making the arts available to all, the 46th edition of the popular festival will fill the plazas with a diverse range of music, dance, spoken word, and family events, featuring dozens of U.S., international, and local artists.

Jewish Museum and Bang on a Can to Present Arto Lindsay in Concert, 5/12

On Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 7:30pm, Bang on a Can and the Jewish Museum will present Bang on a Can: Performance by Arto Lindsay in conjunction with the Museum's exhibition Roberto Burle Marx: Brazilian Modernist. Lindsay's program, which will be announced from the stage, will include music that echoes themes of cultural experimentation and cross-pollination, drawing on elements from American and Brazilian rock, pop, experimental music, and improvisation.
