MEMPHIS Comes To The Fox Theatre 1/31/2012

MEMPHIS, the 2010 Tony® Award Winner for Best Musical, and the show that's currently blowing the roof off Broadway, will play a limited engagement at Atlanta's Fox Theatre from January 31-February 5, as part of the Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta 2011-12 season!

MEMPHIS National Tour Kicks Off in Memphis, 10/16

MEMPHIS to Become Available on DVD and Digital Download in January!

Shout! Factory and Broadway Worldwide, Inc. today announced a new deal to bring Broadway's 2010 Tony Award®-winning Best Musical MEMPHIS to the home entertainment marketplace in the U.S. and Canada. Under this multi-year agreement, Shout! Factory will be the exclusive home entertainment distributor to release MEMPHIS featuring the original Broadway cast, on Blu-rayTM, DVD and for digital download. This announcement was made by Shout! Factory's founding partners Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos; and Broadway Worldwide's founder and CEO Bruce Brandwen.

Called 'The biggest hit on Broadway' by WOR Radio the 2010 Tony Award-winning Best Musical MEMPHIS announced today dates and cities for the U.S. national tour of the critically acclaimed production.

MEMPHIS to be Filmed Live for Nationwide Digital Cinema Distribution!

The 2010 Tony Award® winning Best Musical MEMPHIS will be captured live-in-performance by Broadway Worldwide for high definition exhibition in digital cinemas nationwide this spring. For the first time ever, audiences around the country will be able to experience Broadway's current Tony Award® winning Best Musical in their own home town movie theatre during its Tony Award®-winning year. The Broadway production of MEMPHIS will be captured live during regularly scheduled performances January 18-21st at the Shubert Theatre, utilizing multiple high definition cameras and 96 tracks of sound recording.

RIALTO CHATTER: SPIDEY Pushes Opening Back to January

As BroadwayWorld reported last night, according to the NY Times, the Broadway run of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark was rumored to be postponed once again; this time, because of safety issues. inspectors from The New York Department of Labor visited the Foxwoods Theatre to take a look at the flying devices and methods being used. Because they saw only some of the dozens of aerial stunts in the show, delays in the opening are likely. If the Department of Labor approves of the rest of the stunts in the next 10 days, then performances will begin on November 14.

RIALTO CHATTER: Safety Issues to Postpone SPIDER-MAN Again?

The New York Times reports this afternoon that a second SPIDER-MAN performer has come forward to report an injury as a result of the show's complicated stunts. This second performer - who is remaining anonymous - claims to have broken both feet during the same catapult stunt from which Kevin Aubin broke both wrists, as BroadwayWorld reported earlier today.

Update: SPIDER-MAN's Aubin Wrists Broken But Back in Show Next Week

Michael Riedel reported in this morning's New York Post that SPIDER-MAN's Kevin Aubin, one of several performs said to be appearing in a SPIDER-MAN outfit had broken both of his wrists during a small presentation for ticket brokers and group sales agents last week.
