On September 9, 2016, GRAMMY-nominated composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and longtime Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra member Ted Nash will release Presidential Suite: Eight Variations On Freedom, his debut on Motéma Music.

Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, launches its 2016/17 Season with an extended four-week run of August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson.

Two River Theater announces the cast and creative team for its production of August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson. The production will run September 10-October 9, 2016, with the opening night on Friday, September 16 at 8pm.

Last Saturday night at the Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center presented a celebration on what would have been Ray Charles' 85th Birthday. The program was led by Musical Director and trumpeter Kenny Rampton (who once toured with the Ray Charles band), and included 10 longtime members of the icon's orchestra, along with the most recent “Rayettes” (backup singers Renee Georges, Katrina Harper, and Angela Workman). “Ray Charles Robinson, the genius of soul, his music was beyond genre,” Rampton told the audience. “Anything Mr. C. did from country to blues to the National Anthem was all Ray Charles . . .'

On Today, May 20 and Saturday, May 21, Jazz at Lincoln Center will celebrate the timeless artistry of some of the most beloved vocalists and composers in American history. Throughout one weekend, the finest talents in jazz will perform The Ray Charles Songbook in Rose Theater at 8pm and Body and Soul: America's Unforgettable Crooners in The Appel Room at 7pm and 9:30pm. Today, on the eve of 112th anniversary of Duke Ellington's birth, New York City Center and Jazz at Lincoln Center are pleased to announce a new producing partnership that will combine the organizations' specialties: musical theater and jazz.
