If you asked me to pick a musical I loved based on nostalgia alone, it would be, without a doubt, Annie. Probably for the same reason most theatre kids will tell you; it was the very first musical I was ever in. I was in 6th grade, and I played Kathy. You probably don't know this character- that's because she doesn't actually exist. She was an addition to the script's gaggle of 6 little orphans (I believe our production had 12).

The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, has announced that multi-award-winning stars Raul Esparza and Katie Finneran will announce the nominees for the 2014-15 season today April 20th (11 AM) at The Friars Club (57 East 55th Street- between Park and Madison Avenues.)

On Monday, April 13th, the Theater People Podcast welcomes ROCKY and ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY star Andy Karl. Karl, who has previously been seen on Broadway in JERSEY BOYS, LEGALLY BLONDE, 9 TO FIVE, and others shot to stardom when he was cast in the title role of Ahrens and Flaherty's $17 million adaptation of the Sylvester Stallone film. Karl reflects on being cast in the role, the physical and emotional toll the role took on him, and the life and career altering journey the experience was for him. He also discusses his excitement to be working alongside Kristin Chenowith in Roundabout Theater Company's ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY (the first Broadway job for which he didn't have to audition), and tells hilarious stories about collaborating with his wife Orfea on the Jerry Mitchell helmed 2007 production of LEGALLY BLONDE.

On March 20, Netflix released its newest critically acclaimed drama BLOODLINE. This dark and twisted tale, which feels like a Southern Gothic novel, tells the story of one seemingly stable family in the Florida Keys, and how their world comes crashing down with the return of the family's black sheep.
