Casting for The 2010 24 Hour Musicals has been announced. The cast will include Broadway stars Malcolm Gets, Cady Huffman, Kathleen Turner, and Jeanine Tesori, as well as a host of other Broadway veterans. The process will begin February 8th, with performances of the written musicals taking place that night.

The New Group has announced casting for it's revival of Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, the second show of their 2009 - 2010 season. Directed by Ethan Hawke, the production will feature Josh Hamilton, Marin Ireland, Deirdre O'Connell, Alessandro Nivoloa, Maggie Siff and Frank Whaley. Additional casting to be announced very soon. The limited Off-Broadway engagement set to begin January 29, in advance of a February opening.

Tocqueville Restaurant and Eating Their Words, the one-of-a-kind company that blends the performing and culinary arts, announce the exquisite menu for their special Valentine's Day lunch event. Tocqueville and Eating Their Words' October collaboration was a sold-out success. For this intimate holiday event, Tocqueville's Executive Chef and owner, Marco Moreira, joins forces with playwrights Theresa Rebeck (Pulitzer finalist, Mauritius), Jonathan Marc Sherman (Things We Want), and Sam Forman (The Rise and Fall of Annie Hall). Three original plays, performed between the courses they inspired, are brought to life by Tony Award nominee Isabel Keating (The Boy from Oz), Christopher Evan Welch (Festen, Vicky Cristina Barcelona), Austin Lysy (The American Plan), and Aya Cash (Killers and Other Family). The New York Times is reporting that Shrek vet Christopher Sieber will star as sex columnist Dan Savage in The New Group's production of The Kid, a new musical based on Dan Savage's book The Kid: What Happened After My Boyfriend and I Decided to Go Get Pregnant. The production will run as the the third show of The New Group's 2009 - 2010 season, however, no exact production dates have been announced. Additional cast and creative team announcements are also forthcoming.

The event will take place at Tocqueville Restaurant and will present a menu with each course based on one of three different plays. The plays will be presented in tandem with the different courses. Marlo Hunter will direct the evening.

Zoe Kazan was delighted to be cast by Richard Linklater. "I had known a lot of people who had worked with him and all of them had had nothing but the kindest things to say and they all turned out to be true. He's very easy-going and he's really hands-on as a director. He doesn't hold your hand or baby you, he let's you do the interpretation on your own and tells you what he needs and he's a lot of fun to work with.

According to the cast, a prompter will be on hand for the first week of performances of THE STARRY MESSENGER. As the director/writer Kenneth Lonergan continually made changes up to the first preview performance, actors felt they would be more comfortable on stage with a line prompter in the first row to assist them if they got stuck. Due to the last minute rewrites, the cast was unable to hold a full run through with an audience prior to the first preview. The New York Times reports that during the first preview on Monday, an audience member estimated that the show's star, Matthew Broderick, called out for about 10 lines throughout the night.

Eating Their Words, which weds New York's most innovative chefs with the voices of great American playwrights for unprecedented culinary and theatrical events, announces the exquisite menu for its upcoming Tocqueville Event at Tocqueville Restaurant, Monday October 19th, 7PM. Reinventing 'dinner theater' as an artistic collaboration between chef and playwrights, the diner experiences three short plays happening at the table next to them, voyeuristically overhearing a conversation (the short play) taking place over meal.
