Original Motion Picture Soundtrack of THE MAZE RUNNER Out Today

Sony Classical announces the release of the original motion picture soundtrack of The Maze Runner, by composer John Paesano, available today, September 16. Directed by Wes Ball, the film is based on James Dashner's New York Times best selling young-adult novel.

Patti LuPone to Premiere FAR AWAY PLACES Follow-Up at 54 Below in November

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, will present two-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone in 'Far Away Places - Part Two' November 3 -15. In an evening conceived and directed by Tony Award winner Scott Wittman, LuPone returns with Part Two of the show which she premiered to critical acclaim when 54 Below opened in June 2012. In this continuation of the show (which will include a few encores from the landmark Part One) she further explores her wanderlust, performing songs by an eclectic group of songwriters including Irving Caesar, Billy Joel, David Yazbek, Johnny Mercer and Kris Kristofferson.

Renee Fleming to Open San Antonio Symphony's 75th Anniversary Season, 9/20

On September 20, Maestro Sebastian Lang-Lessing and four-time Grammy® winner Renee Fleming will open the San Antonio Symphony's 75th Anniversary season at The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. Ms. Fleming wowed the crowds at this year's Super Bowl with her extraordinary rendition of the "The Star-Spangled Banner." She will perform Four Last Songs by Richard Strauss, and music from Canteloube and Delibes, in a concert complemented by sparkling works for orchestra by Strauss and Ravel. The exquisite beauty of Renee Fleming's singing of this glorious music will radiate throughout the hall at the new Tobin Center.

Helaine Levy to Receive Georgy Award at Arizona Theatre Company's 2014 Gala, 9/27

Pacific Symphony Orchestra to Mark 25th Anniversary with Violinist Joshua Bell & More, 9/25

Orange County, Calif.—Aug. 28, 2014—Pacific Symphony launches Music Director Carl St.Clair's landmark 25th-anniversary “season of giants” with classical music superstar, violinist Joshua Bell, plus two orchestral showpieces, a West Coast premiere and festivities fit for the grand occasion. Bell returns for his fifth performance with the Symphony (he last performed with the Symphony in May 2010) to celebrate the maestro and captivate audiences with the exciting, breakneck theme and stunning Romanticism of Alexander Glazunov's Violin Concerto. Interview Magazine may have summed up the remarkable violinist's playing best by saying, Bell “does nothing less than tell human beings why they bother to live.” The violinist's artistry is exemplified in his new music directorship of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, his release of 40 CDs since the age of 18, multiple television appearances and countless accolades.

THE ART OF THE SCORE: Film Week at the Philharmonic to Run 9/16-20

The New York Philharmonic will present the second season of THE ART OF THE SCORE: Film Week at the Philharmonic September 16-20, 2014, offering two concert programs of film music - La Dolce Vita: The Music of Italian Cinema and Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times: The Tramp at 100 - that highlight some of the genre's most distinctive uses of music. Music Director Alan Gilbert opens the New York Philharmonic's 2014-15 season on September 16 with the Opening Gala Concert, La Dolce Vita: The Music of Italian Cinema, with special guest Martin Scorsese, Oscar-winning director and film preservation proponent, who will deliver welcoming and introductory remarks. Award-winning actor, Philharmonic Board Member, and Philharmonic Radio Host Alec Baldwin returns as Artistic Advisor of THE ART OF THE SCORE.

Baltimore Symphony to Present Rachmaninoff's SYMPHONY NO. 1, 9/26-28

Marin Alsop and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) present Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 1 on Friday, September 26 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, September 28 at 3 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, and Saturday, September 27 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore. The program also will feature the BSO premiere of Jennifer Higdon's blue cathedral, John Williams' heartbreaking Theme from Schindler's List and Korngold's lushly romantic Violin Concerto both performed by James Ehnes. Pacific Symphony Kicks Off SYMPHONY IN THE CITIES Concerts Tonight

Pack a picnic and gather the family for an evening of free music and outdoor summer fun when Pacific Symphony presents 'Symphony in the Cities' (SITC) in Irvine and Mission Viejo. Music Director Carl St. Clair takes the orchestra out of the concert hall and into Orange County cities for the first in a series of community concerts (more to be announced) this 2014-15 season celebrating the maestro's milestone 25th anniversary with the orchestra.
