Tony Award-winner Julie Taymor and Oscar-winner Elliot Goldenthal will be honored with the Samuel H. Scripps Award at Theatre for a New Audience's 30th Anniversary Gala Celebrating Shakespeare's 446th Birthday. The celebration, Monday, May 10, will be held at The Powerhouse at the American Museum of Natural History, Central Park West at 79th Street.

'The Sopranos' star is among the executive producers behind an adaptation of the French Canadian series 'Taxi 22.' Variety reports that the new half-hour series could also become a star vehicle for Gandolfini.

'Saturday Night Live' wraps the season with an Emmy award-winner and a Grammy award-winner, as Alec Baldwin and Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers take to studio 8H for the season finale. Baldwin returns for his fifteenth time and will tie Steve Martin for the show record for most host appearances. Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers will make their eighth appearance as musical guest.

Summer On the Hudson (SOH), one of New York City's largest free summer festivals, opens its Tenth Anniversary Season Sunday, May 2, at Riverside Park South with the Irish Arts Center's 9th Annual all-day New York City Irish Dance Festival.

The 1987 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play by August Wilson was directed by Kenny Leon. The strictly limited 13-week engagement began previews on April 14. Cinda McCain is one of the most naturally gifted actors you'll find on a stage anywhere. According to the New York Times, following his stint as Oscar co-host this Sunday, Alec Baldwin will be heading back to the east coast to star as the psychiatrist Martin Dysart in Peter Shaffer's Equus this summer at Guild Hall in East Hampton, N.Y. The production will run from June 8 - July 13 at the John Drew Theater at Guild Hall.
