Randy Harrison Replaces Preston Sadleir in New Off-Broadway Musical ATOMIC

Producers of the upcoming U.S. premiere of the new musical Atomic announced today that Randy Harrison (Showtime's "Queer as Folk") has joined the cast, replacing Preston Sadleir, who will appear in the upcoming revival of Titanic. The other members of the Atomic cast are David Abeles, Alexis Fishman, Sara Gettelfinger, Jonathan Hammond, Jeremy Kushnier, James David Larson, Euan Morton and Grace Stockdale.

Nathan Tysen and Arthur Perlman Win 2014 Kleban Prizes for Musical Theatre

The Kleban Foundation just announced that the 24th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has been awarded to Nathan Tysen and the 24th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Arthur Perlman.The 2014 prizes will be presented on Monday, June 23, 2014, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI.

As first reported by TVLine.com, AMERICAN IDOL's Top-4 Week is going to take a very IF/THEN look at love with the theme 'Love: Break-Ups and Make-Ups.' So, after last night's elimination of personality vacuum Sam Woolf, IDOL's Final Four; Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson, Jessica Meuse, and Alex Preston, will each take their turns with two songs each that 'celebrate the agony and the ecstasy of music's greatest theme.'

Offerings will include the passionate and powerful musical Parade with music by Jason Robert Brown, the comic Stepping Out about the friendships and joy found in an adult tap class, the 60s era hit musical Hairspray (co-produced with Syracuse Stage), two couples grappling with relationships in the witty comedy Lips Together, Teeth Apart, William Shakespeare's profound comedy Measure for Measure, and the laugh-out-loud Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q. AVENUE Q Opens at the Greenwich Theatre Tonight; National Tour to Kick Off May 13

A smash hit on Broadway, the West End and worldwide, this hugely popular coming of age satire based on the much loved Sesame Street features puppets and puppeteers alongside human actors. The producers behind the first UK Tour of Spring Awakening and West End production of Seussical will be embarking on a ten week tour of the Tony Award winning musical comedy following a run in their resident venue Greenwich Theatre.

The Clear Space Theatre Company is in rehearsal for their next production - the area premiere of Avenue Q. The show, which won the 2004 Tony award for Best Original Score and Best Musical, opens in Rehoboth Beach Friday, May 2, and plays through May 18. Avenue Q stars both human and puppet characters similar to those used on Sesame Street and The Muppets, but deals with adult themes such as finding a job, questioning your sexuality, wondering why you can't find a date, racism, the true reason for the internet and finding your purpose in life.

New Musical ATOMIC to Open Off-Broadway this Summer at Acorn Theatre

This summer, after a wildly successful engagement in Sydney, Australia, Atomic, the exhilarating and provocative new musical based on the creation of the atomic bomb, will make its highly anticipated U.S. premiere with a strictly limited 8-week Off-Broadway engagement from June 26 - August 16 at The Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues). The official opening is set for Sunday, July 13. Mercury Theater Chicago to Present AVENUE Q, 4/24-6/29

Mercury Theater Chicago, 3745 N. Southport Avenue, presents Chicago's home-grown version of the hilarious Broadway musical AVENUE Q, running from April 24 through June 29, 2014. Winner of the Tony 'Triple Crown' for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book in 2004, AVENUE Q is part flesh, part felt, and packed with heart. The production will be led by Jeff Award winners L. Avenue Q UK Tour Adds Dublin & Oxford Dates

The production, produced by Sell a Door Theatre and Richard Darbourne Ltd opens at the Greenwich Theatre in London next month prior to a twenty four venue tour across the country from Inverness down to Poole. The production is directed by Cressida Carre, Designed by Richard Evans with Puppetry Direction from Sam Lupton.

2014 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Announces National Awardees; Festival Set for 4/14-19

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced national awardees of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. Individuals from across the United States are recognized for outstanding work from the eight regional festivals that were held January 7 through March 1, 2014. Selected awardees and representatives will be brought to Washington, D.C. for an expense-paid trip to participate in the 46th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), April 14-19, 2014.
