Babes With Blades Theatre Company's TITUS ANDRONICUS to Open Next Month

Babes With Blades Theatre Company will serve up the blood and pie with their upcoming production of William Shakespeare's most violent play, Titus Andronicus, performed by an all-female cast, at City Lit Theatre, 1020 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., Chicago. Previews will be Saturday, February 21, Friday, February 27, and Saturday, February 28 at 8PM and Sundays, February 22 and Sunday, March 1 at 3PM. The Press opening is Monday, March 2 at 8PM, and the show will run Thursdays-Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3 from March 2-April 4. Closing (Easter) weekend performances will be Wednesday, April 1 at 8pm, Friday, April 3 at 8pm & Saturday, April 4 at 8pm.

Michigan Shakespeare Festival Announces Ticket Discounts

The Michigan Shakespeare Festival is offering a 5% discount on tickets for all regular performances purchased through December 31, 2013. The offer extends to a variety of ticket types, including Flex Passes, Senior, Student and Group Tickets. "We wish to say a thank you to all of our loyal patrons who purchase their tickets early in the season. An MSF Flex Pass includes one ticket to each production and allows patrons to purchase now, but gives them the flexibility to choose their seats at a later date, so you don't have to have commit to a specific performance to take advantage of this deal" stated Artistic Director Janice L. Blixt. The offer doesn't extend to preview performance tickets. To redeem the offer, patrons will need to call the Potter Center Ticket Office at 517-796-8600 and mention ticket code MSF20132014. For walk up orders, the Potter Center Ticket Office is open Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and one hour prior to show time. The ticket office is located within the Potter Center at 2111 Emmons Road, Jackson MI 49201.

The Michigan Shakespeare Festival officially announced their 2014 Season on Saturday night at the Scenes & Sonnets From Shakespeare event, starring Janet Haley and David Turrentine, and sponsored by JTV's Karen and Bart Hawley. The lineup for the 20th Anniversary Season will be Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, and Shakespeare's romantic adventure Cymbeline.

Michigan Shakespeare Festival to Tour MACBETH, ROMEO & JULIET, 11/4-5/30

The Michigan Shakespeare Festival is proud to announce the opening of their 2013/2014 Touring Performances. From November 4, 2013 through May 30, 2014 the MSF tour will perform Macbeth and Romeo & Juliet for high schools, libraries, community organizations, and senior centers throughout Southern Michigan, Northern Indiana and Northern Ohio. Adapted and directed by award-winning MSF Artistic Director Janice L. Blixt, productions run approximately 100 minutes and are available for booking at any time throughout the year. Tickets are $8.00 per?person with a minimum of 150 audience members per show (teachers, chaperones and organizers each receive a complimentary ticket).

The Michigan Shakespeare Festival is proud to announce a one night only benefit performance of Scenes & Sonnets From Shakespeare on Saturday, November 9th at the Jackson Symphony Orchestra Hall, 215 West Michigan Avenue in Jackson. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the performance will begin at 8:00 p.m. Conceived by and starring MSF regulars Janet Haley and David Turrentine, Scenes & Sonnets From Shakespeare is an original program featuring scenes and monologues from some of Shakespeare's most famous works, such as Taming of the Shrew, Much Ado About Nothing, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Hosted by Bart and Karen Hawley, the evening will also include delectable hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Scenes & Sonnets from Shakespeare also marks the first program in the MSF's 20th Anniversary Season Artistic Associates Series. The Series is a slate of performances, readings and special events scheduled throughout this winter and spring that will be announced at a later date.

The darkly funny and deeply dramatic production, crowned by a fully underscored epic Battle of Bosworth Field, stars Michigan native David Turrentine in the title role and features performances by Amy Montgomery, Stacy Stoltz, and Alan Ball.
