Julie Fowlis Performs Tonight at The Ware Center

Multi-award winning Gaelic singer and instrumentalist, Julie Fowlis, will perform “Music of the Scottish Isles” at the Ware Center tonight, October 15 at 7:30 PM. Widely recognized for her intoxicating and lucid voice, Julie Fowlis is probably best known for singing the theme song in Disney Pixar's “Brave.” An artist with a genuine curiosity to explore other traditions and a natural ability to cross genres, Julie has collaborated, recorded and performed with artists such as violin virtuoso Nicola Benedetti, and acclaimed singers Aled Jones, Grammy-Award winning James Taylor, and Mary Chapin Carpenter. The Ware Center is located at 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster.

His first full day of work was Monday October 5, 2015 and he is knee-deep in preparations for the start of the expanded three-show 2015-2016 Season. On December 5th The Washingtonians will kick things off by performing Songs We Know; it will be their first concert after a 12-year hiatus and more than 65 chorus members are expected to participate.

Carnegie Hall presents Orchestra of St. Luke's in five concerts in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage this season, starting on Thursday, October 29 at 8:00 p.m. with Principal Conductor Pablo Heras-Casado leading a program that includes Stravinsky's Suite No. 2; and Tchaikovsky's rarely heard Symphony No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 13, "Winter Daydreams." Also on the program is Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64 with soloist Christian Tetzlaff.
