James Barbour Presents Fifth Annual Holiday Concert at Sardi's, 12/6-12/8

Laughing Dog Media continues Manhattan's Holiday celebrations with Broadway star and vocal powerhouse JAMES BARBOUR'S Fifth Annual Holiday Season at Sardi's (234 West 44th Street, New York, NY) with three Holiday concerts on Thursday, December 6; Friday, December 7; and Saturday, December 8.

Ciaran Sheehan to Lead Holiday Sing-a-long at Bay Street Theatre

Bay Street Theatre has announced a special holiday event for the entire family. The 4th Annual HOLIDAY CONCERT AND SING-A-LONG on Tuesday, December 18 at 7 pm features the Broadway Irish tenor CIARAN SHEEHAN accompanied by pianist BRENDA LANDRUM, and is made possible by the generous gifts of some Bay Street patrons. Suggested donation is $10 and a canned good for our local food pantry.

THE FREEDOM OF THE CITY Returns to Irish Rep, 1/2-20

Off-Broadway's Irish Repertory Theatre has announced an additional three weeks for its hit revival of Brian Friel's THE FREEDOM OF THE CITY - with performances to resume January 2 (following a hiatus beginning November 25) on the Irish Repertory's Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage (132 West 22nd Street). Performances are set to run through January 20. Ciaran O'Reilly directs.

Northern Stage Bids Farewell to Artistic Director Brooke Ciardelli

The Northern Stage Company of White River Junction, Vermont announced today that the Board of Directors and Founding Artistic Director Brooke Ciardelli have agreed that the current production will be her last with the company. Ms. Ciardelli has led the artistic team at Northern Stage since its formation in 1997, guiding it through 16 seasons of critically acclaimed professional theater. She has served in many capacities for the Company including Artistic Director since its inception, director of more than 50 percent of the main stage productions, as well as serving as Managing Director and CEO for many seasons and as a member of the Board of Directors.

ONCE's John Tiffany and Stephen Hoggett Win SDCF's 2012 Callaway Award

On November 15th, the winners of the Stage Directors and Choreographers' Joseph A. Callaway award were announced at an intimate presentation at the SDC offices, attended by most of the finalists. John Tiffany, director and Steven Hoggett, choreographer each won the prestigious award for their collaborative work on Once, produced by New York Theatre Workshop.

Irish Rep Extends A CELEBRATION OF HAROLD PINTER Again Through Nov 30

Charlotte Moore to Helm IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE at Irish Rep, Beginning 12/5

Irish Repertory Theatre continues its 25th Anniversary Season with IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, The 1946 Live Radio Play, with previews set to begin December 5, prior to its official Off-Broadway opening on Monday, December 10 on The Irish Repertory Theatre's W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre (132 West 22nd Street). Charlotte Moore (DANCING AT LUGHNASA, NEW GIRL IN TOWN) directs.

Irish Rep's A CELEBRATION OF HAROLD PINTER Adds Performances, 11/6 & 13

Off-Broadway's Irish Repertory Theatre, which was had been closed during the blackout, has added performances of Julian Sands in A CELEBRATION OF HAROLD PINTER on Tuesdays, November 6 and 13 at 7pm in its W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre (132 West 22nd Street). John Malkovich ('Places in the Heart') directs.

Casting Announced for Huntington Theatre Company's OUR TOWN

The Huntington Theatre Company brings Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning Our Town home to Boston on its 75th anniversary in a landmark staging by Obie Award winner David Cromer (Tribes, Adding Machine). The remount of the acclaimed New York production that features a homegrown cast will inaugurate the Huntington's use of the intimate, 250-seat Roberts Studio Theatre in the Huntington's Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA.

The Irish Repertory Theatre, which has been dark since the blackout following Hurricane Sandy, has announced that performances of A CELEBRATION OF HAROLD PINTER are set to resume as of Friday, November 2 at 8pm in its W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre; and performances of THE FREEDOM OF THE CITY are set to resume as of Saturday, November 3 at 3pm on its Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage, at 132 West 22nd Street in Manhattan.

Richmond Shakespeare Presents A CHILD'S CHRISTMAS IN WALES 11/29-12/23

Richmond Shakespeare presents A Child's Christmas in Wales, a new adaptation of Dylan Thomas's beloved seasonal work, November 29 through December 23. Performances are 7:30pm Thursday-Saturday and 3pm on Sunday. Inspired by the Charlotte Moore version at the Irish Repertory Theatre in New York City, director Jan Powell and music director Andrew Hamm have teamed up to create a theatrical event to charm audiences of all ages.
