Playwright Mashuq Deen (New Dramatists Fellow 2022) brings the story of his own transgender journey as a member of a traditional South Asian family and Playwright Catherine Filloux, winner of more than 40 awards for playwriting, activism and peace work, brings her latest work to the stage at New York City's first arts-advocacy festival of its kind, the International Human Rights Art Festival.
Karen Finley to Perform in Steppenwolf's LOOKOUT SERIES 2/10

This February, Steppenwolf Theatre Company's LookOut Series, a multi-genre performance series, presents two engagements written and performed by renowned performance artist and Chicago native, Karen Finley. Written in Sand: Collected AIDS Writings, a solo spoken word performance, runs Friday February 10 and Saturday February 11 at 8pm; and Unicorn Gratitude Mystery runs Friday, February 17 and Saturday, February 18 at 8pm (doors open at 7:30pm, general seating). Both engagements take place in Steppenwolf's 1700 Theatre, an intimate cabaret-style venue connected to Front Bar: Coffee and Drinks at 1700 N Halsted St. Tickets to Written in Sand and Unicorn Gratitude Mystery are $25 and can be purchased atsteppenwolf.org or 312-335-1650.

The production, co-directed by RTE members Megan Carney and Mark Ulrich,runs January 7 - February 11, 2017, at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago. Dixon Place ((Ellie Covan, Founding & Artistic Director) is pleased to announce their new dance theatre commission Wonder/Through the Looking Glass Houses, by acclaimed transgender performance artist, choreographer and storyteller Arrie Davidson for six performances only beginning Today, December 2nd at 7:30. This production marks the first full-length work by her socially progressive company KineticArchitecture Dance Theatre. Wonder/Through the Looking Glass Houses, will be performed on December 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th 16th and 17th at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street). LookOut programming takes place in Steppenwolf's 1700 Theatre, an 80-seat cabaret-style space connected to Steppenwolf's own Front Bar: Coffee and Drinks at 1700 N Halsted St. Guests can take drinks into the theater.
