American Blues Theater Extends LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

Due to early ticket demand, American Blues Theater announces the extension of Little Shop of Horrors, the comedic rock musical with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman, music by Alan Menken, directed by Jonathan Berry, and music direction by Ensemble member Austin Cook. Little Shop of Horrors now runs April 29 - June 26, 2016 at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago.

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble to Stage Midwest Premiere of DRY LAND

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble (RTE), Chicago's only Equity theatre dedicated to producing new work with women at the core, announces the midwest premiere of Dry Land by Ruby Rae Spiegel. The production, directed by RTE member Hallie Gordon, runs April 22 - May 28, 2016, at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago. Strawdog Theatre Company and Artistic Director Hank Boland are proud to announce the final main stage production in its 2015 - 2016 season and the final production to be produced at Strawdog's Broadway home for 26 years*, George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart's Once in a Lifetime, April 22 - June 4, directed by Damon Kiely, at Strawdog Theatre Company, 3829 N. Broadway St. Previews are Friday, April 22 and 29, Saturday, April 23 and 30 at 8 p.m., Sunday, April 24 and May 1 at 4 p.m. and Thursday, April 28 at 8 p.m. Opening night is Monday, May 2 at 8 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. An industry performance is Monday, May 9 at 8 p.m. and a fully accessible performance in conjunction with the Access Project at Victory Gardens is Thursday, May 12 at 8 p.m.** Preview tickets are $15 with regular run tickets $28 - 30, they may be ordered online at strawdog.org or by calling OvationTix toll-free: 866-811-4111. Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts and the Santa Rosa Symphony announced the lineup for their 2016-2017 Symphony Pops Series collaboration. The new season marks the twelfth year of the Symphony Pops Series. Led by Principal Pops Conductor Michael Berkowitz, the series will be presented in the Ruth Finley Person Theater at Luther Burbank Center for the Arts.  The concert offerings include hits from Maestro Berkowitz's voluminous library of popular music, a special Charlie Brown Christmas Concert, a showcase of The Great American Songbook and a tribute to the legends of country music.
