The Flea Theater in association with Four Arts Media will present the next 4 plays of the AMERICAN SONG 13 play series. Following the previous four plays that brought us from the turn of the century to 1939, the upcoming presentations forge ahead through World War II and end after the cultural and political upheavals of the 1960s.

Ryan Silverman as Giorgio, joins acclaimed, award-winning actresses Judy Kuhn (as Fosca) and Melissa Errico (as Clara), in Classic Stage Company's new production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical, directed by John Doyle (director of the acclaimed Broadway revivals of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd and Company). Passion will open at CSC (136 East 13th Street) tonight, February 28.

Frequent stage star Hamish Linklater - most recently seen on Broadway in Theresa Rebeck's SEMINAR last year and previously in the star-studded Shakespeare In The Park production of AS YOU LIKE IT in 2009 - has just joined the cast of the new David E. Kelley pilot THE CRAZY ONES, co-starring Robin Williams, Sarah Michelle Gellar and James Wolk.

Playwright Tommy Smith returns to The Flea and once again brings you to the brink with the New York Premiere of WHITE HOT. In her directorial debut, the production will be helmed by Flea Resident Director Courtney Ulrich starring The Bats, the resident acting company at The Flea. Previews begin April 26 with opening night slated for May 7.

In the past 40 years, The Acting Company has produced and performed 137 classic and new plays for audiences totaling 3.5 million in 48 states and 10 foreign countries.

The Public's 2013 free Shakespeare in the Park season will begin on Tuesday, May 28 with THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, featuring Shakespeare in the Park alumni Jesse Tyler Ferguson ('Modern Family') as Dromio and Hamish Linklater ('The New Adventures of Old Christine') as Antipholus. Ferguson and Linklater last performed together in The Winter's Tale and The Merchant of Venice in 2010 for The Public's Shakespeare in the Park. Directed by Daniel Sullivan, THE COMEDY OF ERRORS will run for five weeks through Sunday, June 30.

The Flea Theater will extend the production of THE VANDAL through March 3. Hamish Linklater's playwriting debut, directed by Jim Simpson and starring Deirdre O'Connell, Zach Grenier and Noah Robbins, opened January 31.

Ryan Murphy has revealed that Lily Rabe has signed on again for the upcoming third season of the FX anthology series, AMERICAN HORROR STORY.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, will present a private reading of a new musical comedy A DOCTOR IN SPITE OF HIMSELF by Sheldon Harnick, based on Molière's LE MEDECIN MALGRE LUI, today, February 1 at MTC Studios. The musical features a score by Harnick, as well as English Adaptation and Additional Dialogue. The reading will be directed by David Glenn Armstrong, with musical direction by Amanda Morton. The cast will feature Ben Davis, Beth Fowler, David Garrison, Cady Huffman, Charles Kimbrough, Jose Llana, Patrick Richwood, Robb Sapp and Elena Shaddow.

Still on the Road-a documentary following twelve actors as they tour across America during The Acting Company's 37th season (2008-09)-premieres on greater New York PBS stations beginning Sunday, February 3 on Channel 13 at 1pm. Additional presentations are scheduled for Sunday, February 10 at 11pm on Long Island's WLIW and on Thursday, March 7 at 9 pm on New Jersey's NJTV. As independent filmmaker Sara Wolkowitz tags along, the actors spend seven months on a bus bringing theater to communities across the country that have little or no access to live performance. They experience the challenges of touring, develop the ability to adjust to all types of theaters and diverse audiences, teach students new ways to look at Shakespeare and cap the tour with praise from Charles Isherwood of The New York Times. Through conversations with Acting Company alums Kevin Kline, Rainn Wilson and Harriet Harris we learn that, with the exception of video games and Wi-Fi on the bus, not much has changed - and that is just as it should be. The documentary was coproduced by F. Richards Ford, III and Group One Productions.

The Acting Company and the Guthrie Theater present a national tour of Shakespeare's As You Like It running from January through April 2013. Rehearsing in New York, performances began at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis on January 13 and will run through February 4 before leaving on a cross country tour to 29 cities in 22 states. It will play at New York's famed New Victory Theater March 1-10. Dan Rothenberg, Artistic Director of Philadelphia's Pig Iron Theatre has directed Shakespeare's lushly lighthearted comedy. William Inge's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Picnic returns to Broadway in a striking new production helmed by acclaimed director Sam Gold (Roundabout's Look Back in Anger, Seminar). Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, announced today that acclaimed film and television actor Christopher Lloyd, will star as Azdak in the company's upcoming spring production of Bertolt Brecht's THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE, to be directed by Brian Kulick (who directed Brecht's Galileo last season), and featuring new music by Tony Award-winning singer/songwriter Duncan Sheik, featuring translation by James and Tania Stern with lyrics by W.H. Auden. THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE will begin performances Thursday, May 2 at CSC (136 East 13th Street) for a limited engagement. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, April 2.
