Park Square Theatre opens its Proscenium Stage Season with the Tony Award-nominated campy rock musical THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW by Richard O'Brien (Sept 27 a?" It is bound to happen every once in awhile that various theatres in the Twin Cities all decide to produce the same musical within the same season. The positive thing is that the other two productions of She Loves Me (one at Daleko and one at Lyric Arts) were absolutely fabulous and the most recent production by Artistry was too. I don't mind seeing this for a third time within the same year because it's so ridiculously charming.

Navigating life as a blind woman in 1944 in New York City is hard enough; getting innocently caught up in the competing schemes of con men and murderers is not a complication she needs! Freshwater Theatre Company begins our 2015-2016 season with the world premiere of Keith Hovis's moving new musical Pioneer Suite, detailing the lives of three women who settled the Minnesota prairie in the late 1800s. 

The great thing about the Twin Cities theater community is that not only can you see big lavish productions at the Orpheum, Ordway, or Guthrie, but you can also see small low-tech productions in odd or tiny spaces that will surprise and delight you every bit as much as those big productions, or even moreso. 7th House Theater Collective's 7-person stripped-down version of the cult horror movie turned off-Broadway musical Little Shop of Horrors is just such a show.
