Fugard's COMING HOME Announced For Berkeley Rep Upcoming Season, Previews 1/15

Today, the Tony Award-winning Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the seventh play selected for its upcoming season: the West Coast premiere of Coming Home by Athol Fugard completes a bold slate that already features four world premieres, a West Coast premiere from Tony Kushner, and a holiday show starring the grandchild of Charlie Chaplin.

Josh Charles To Appear In Long Wharf's THE GLASS MENAGERIE

Josh Charles will appear as Jim, the gentleman caller in The Long Wharf Theater's production of Tennessee Williams' THE GLASS MENAGERIE. The show will be directed by Gordon Edelstein run from May 13-June 7. Charles previously appeared at The Long Wharf during the 1983-84 season in 'A Dance Lesson' which was also directed by Edelstein.

Long Wharf Theatre Extends 'Hughie' Through 11/16

Due to tremendous audience interest, the critically acclaimed Goodman Theatre production of Hughie, starring Brian Dennehy and Joe Grifasi and directed by Robert Falls, will be extended for a week with the run now concluding on Nov. 16.

2008 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize Awarded to Judith Thompson for "Palace of the End"

The 2008 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to Judith Thompson for her critically acclaimed play Palace of the End, marking the first time a Canadian writer has received the prestigious playwriting award's highest honor. Thompson received $20,000 and a signed and numbered print by artist Willem de Kooning at a special 30th Anniversary ceremony on Monday, March 10th at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas where Ms. Blackburn first became involved in theatre.
