The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) presents Breaking the Moon, a new hard-hitting rock musical about teen suicide written and composed by Amy Steinberg. The cast of 7 includes Nicholas Clementi, Ashley Covington, Ailey Finn, Andrew Henriques, Juliana Kantor, Kate Leach, and Colin Samole. Breaking the Moonis a NYMF special event and is being staged at Theater 511, 511 West 54th Street (bet. 10th and 11th Aves.) in NYC for four performances from August 3-6, 2016.

Produced by Keith Levenson, the CD features the original cast, which includes Lauren Kennedy (Spamalot), Sally Mayes (She Loves Me), Teri Ralston (Company), Gina Stewart (Dawson's Creek) and Liza Vann (Machiavelli), with music by Nashville hit-makers Marshall Chapman (Jimmy Buffett, Wynonna, Olivia Newton-John) and Matraca Berg (Reba McEntire, Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill). Elaine Stritch and Donna McKechnie stopped in to see GOOD OL' GIRLS which only runs, as scheduled, through April 11th. They meet with the cast after the show.
Lauren Kennedy will perform at The Canal Room on April 4th for a concert entitled 'Lauren Kennedy and the Freakers Ball.' Kennedy will be joined by a number of Broadway veterans, including Julia Burrows, Michelle Kinney, Alan Campbell, Gina Stewart, and Max Von Essen. The concert will begin at 8:00pm.
The off-Broadway musical GOOD OL' GIRLS is set to record its cast album today, March 23. The cast features Sally Mayes, Teri Ralston, Lauren Kennedy, Liza Vann, and Gina Stewart. A release date for the recording has yet to be announced.
