While most Broadway shows are 'dark' on Mondays (serving as the company's day off), MAMMA MIA!, ROCK OF AGES, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, CHICAGO and GHETTO KLOWN do regularly perform on Mondays along with PHANTOM, however are celebrating an altered schedule this week to accommodate the holiday.

John Leguizamo's GHETTO KLOWN, which opened this spring for a 12 week engagement and was immediately extended at Broadway's Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street) closes on Sunday July 10. The acclaimed production will have played 25 previews and 95 regular performances. Plans are underway for John to take the show to other U.S. cities as well as to South America where he will perform it in Spanish.

As previously reported, the cast of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT will be performing the show stopper 'It's Raining Men' at the Tony Awards ceremony on Sunday, June 12. The performance will be broadcast as part of the ceremony on CBS. Bloomberg and Mayor's Office of Media & Entertainment Commissioner Katherine Oliver today presented the sixth annual 'Made in NY' Awards, honoring six individuals and organizations which have made significant contributions to the City's entertainment and new media industries. This year's honorees included Matt Damon, John Leguizamo, Foursquare, Stacey Spikes, Smuggler, Lauren Zalaznick, and the first-ever 'Made in NY' Mayor's Award for Lifetime Achievement, which was awarded to Sidney Lumet and accepted on his behalf by the director's daughter, screenwriter Jenny Lumet.
