Cast Announced for Everyday Inferno Theatre Company's AFTER I WAS FREE at Dixon Place

Everyday Inferno Theatre Company is thrilled to announce casting for After I Was Free, presented by Dixon Place. In After I Was Free, Everyday Inferno presents in-progress excerpts from Caroline Angell's original musical adaptation of the biblical story of Susanna and the Elders, with music by Grace Oberhofer.

Soho Theatre, Hightide and Talawa Theatre to Present GIRLS This Autumn

Soho Theatre, HighTide and Talawa Theatre Company present Theresa Ikoko's award-winning new play Girls, the funny and fiercely passionate new play by award-winning playwright Theresa Ikoko will premiere at HighTide Festival 2016 in September before its London premiere at Soho Theatre on 27 September. The production will also run at Birmingham Rep Theatre in between those dates.

Vital Theatre Company's STINKYKIDS, THE MUSICAL Returns Off-Broadway Today

The award-winning VITAL THEATRE COMPANY has announced the return of its hit production of STINKYKIDS, THE MUSICAL, which won an Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Family Show in 2012. With book and lyrics by Sammy Buck and music by Daniel S. Acquisto, the musical is based on the books by Britt Menzies. Michael Schloegl directs.

Goodman Theatre Announces 2016-17 Playwrights Unit

The four Chicago-based playwrights newly named to the Playwrights Unit, a year-long residency in partnership with Chicago Dramatists, include Lucas Baisch, whose work has been developed at Victory Gardens Theater, Post Q at Links Hall, Chicago Dramatists' Saturday Series and more; Dawn Renee Jones, recipient of the 2015 Ruby Prize for her play A Heap See; Evan Linder, whose recent credits include the acclaimed remount of his play Byhalia, Mississippi, (2016 Non-Equity Jeff Award for new work) at Steppenwolf's 1700 Theatre; and Emma Stanton, recipient of the 2016 Princess Grace Award Playwriting Fellowship, which includes a year-long residency at New Dramatists in New York.

Donmar Warehouse's All-Female THE TEMPEST Begins Tonight at King's Cross

Singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading will compose original music for Phyllida Lloyd's forthcoming production of The Tempest. The songs will be set to Shakespeare's words in the Donmar's new all-female production which starts performance from tonight 23rd September.

Casting is complete for the three 'developmental productions' featured in Goodman Theatre's 13th annual New Stages festival, a free celebration of new works by some of the country's finest established and emerging playwrights. These three plays, which are staged in repertory with modest production values following three weeks of rehearsal, include Blue Skies Process by Abe Koogler, directed by Henry Wishcamper; Support Group for Men by Ellen Fairey, directed by Kimberly Senior; and The King of Hell's Palace by Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig, directed by Tea Alagi.
