The daughter of jazz legend Dee Dee Bridgewater and director Gilbert Moses, Paris-based China was born in the United States but raised in France. Multi-talented, she is a professional vocalist, songwriter, music producer, and television & radio host. She will be performing material from her fifth studio album, "Crazy Blues", recorded with pianist Raphael Lemonnier, which was released earlier this year.

With a voice as unmistakable as her songs, Florida-based singer-songwriter Geri X has watched her career rocket to new heights this year with a high profile duet on Kinks' founder Dave Davies' solo effort I Will Be Me and now the release of her most mature album to date, Loyalty Sport, available September 17. One of the biggest downers perpetrated by American culture is the characterization of Labor Day weekend as the 'unofficial end of summer.' But given what has passed for cabaret entertainment-at least the shows I was able to attend--since the 'unofficial start of summer' on Memorial Day weekend, the end of summer can't come soon enough. But my dismay over the hours lost watching average shows this season was tempered a bit by the pride and joy I felt watching the June performances of three strikingly attractive and talented 30ish brunettes with powerhouse voices-- Jackie Kristel, Karen Gross and Jodi Beck, who all staged entertaining shows as spring was turning to summer.
