According to Deadline, Helen Mirren and Danny DeVito have signed on to join the voice cast of the upcoming THE ONE AND ONLY IVAN. The new Disney film is set to be a hybrid of live action and CGI. The two join the cast already consisting of Bryan Cranston, Ramon Rodriquez, Arianna Greenblatt, Indira Varma, Eleanor Matsuura, Angelina Jolie, Sam Rockwell, and Brooklynn Prince. Production has commenced at Pinewood Studios outside London on “The One and Only Ivan,” a live-action/CG hybrid adaptation of the children's book by Katherine Applegate directed by Thea Sharrock (“Me before You”). The screenplay is by two-time Independent Spirit Award winner Mike White (“Pitch Perfect 3,” “The School of Rock”) based on Applegate's award-winning book and the producers are Oscar® and three-time Golden Globe® winner Angelina Jolie (“First They Killed My Father,” “Maleficent”), the late Allison Shearmur (“Solo: A Star Wars Story,” “Cinderella”) and Brigham Taylor (“Christopher Robin,” “The Jungle Book”).

AMC announced from the Television Critics' Association (TCA) Press Tour the premiere dates for new and returning series, including the international crime thriller, 'McMafia,' 'Fear the Walking Dead' season four, martial arts drama 'Into the Badlands' season three and 'AMC Visionaries: James Cameron's Story of Science Fiction.'
AMC released today photos from the upcoming third season of its martial arts series, INTO THE BADLANDS, which is currently filming in Dublin, Ireland and will return this Spring.

A company of more than 60 artists will bring The Iliad to life in a durational reading on Friday 14 August. The reading will begin at the British Museum and culminate on the Almeida stage. The marathon reading is the latest event in the theatre's Almeida Greeks Festival which has so far seen Robert Icke's critically acclaimed production of Oresteia transfer to Trafalgar Studios in the West End and James Macdonald's production of Bakkhai play to sold out houses at the Almeida.

The National Theatre has announced casting for its upcoming productions, starting with Moira Buffini's WELCOME TO THEBES which will run starting June 15. Nikki Amuka-Bird and David Harewood will star in the World Premiere of the play, which tells the Greek myth of the first democratically elected president of Thebes in a modernized way. ENRON, written by Lucy Prebble, recently began a six-week run at London's Royal Court Theatre on September 17 and will move to the West End's Noel Coward Theatre on January 16, prior to an official opening Jan. 26, 2010. It will replace the soon-to-close CALENDAR GIRLS. The New York Times is reporting that the production will move to Broadway at a Shubert Theater to be determined in April 2010. The Broadway transfer will be produced by Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, Matthew Byam Shaw, Act Productions, Caro Newling for Neal St. Productions and the Shubert Organization.
Columbia Pictures has purchased screen rights to ENRON, Lucy Prebble's new play investigating the infamous energy company's 2001 scandal that is currently running at London's Royal Court Theatre. The production will premiere on the West End on January 16, 2010.
