Actor Eddie Redmayne, who is currently giving a Tony Award-nominated performance in RED on Broadway, will star as Albert in Steven Spielberg's upcoming film 'War Horse,' contactmusic.com reports, based on information from The Playlist. The film is based on a 1982 children's novel by Michael Morpungo, which deals with the relationship between Albert and his horse, Joe, who is sold to the army during World War I. The book has also been made into a play, which was recently produced in the West End and is to transfer to Broadway.

Inspired by friend Eddie Redmayne, whom she saw perform in RED at the Donmar Warehouse (Redmayne is now performing in RED on Broadway), Stewart told 'Vogue' magazine of the challenge: 'Unlike movie acting, you have to deliver the whole performance there and then. You live it every night.'

The New York Times reports today that the Tony Award statuette has grown up for 2010. Where the statue used to be 3 1/4 inches tall, weighing in at a 1 1/2 pounds, this year's prize is larger by almost double: standing 5 inches high and weighing 3 1/2 pounds.

Starz Entertainment has acquired U.S. television rights to TANDEM Communications' ground-breaking eight-hour television adaptation of Ken Follett's bestselling novel 'The Pillars of the Earth.' Starz kicks-off with a two-hour premiere of the series, produced by Tandem Communications, MUSE Entertainment and Ridley and Tony Scott's SCOTT FREE Films, on July 23 at 10pm et/pt.
