Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to present Broadway's most talked about new musical and the biggest Tony Award®-winner in years this summer. SPRING AWAKENING, the 8-time Tony Award® winning Broadway musical, will play the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre (24 W. Randolph St.) for a limited engagement, August 4 to 16, 2009.

Image Entertainment, Inc. a leading independent licensee and distributor of entertainment programming in North America, announced today that it has acquired all North American rights to 'Dare,' starring Emmy Rossum ('The Phantom of the Opera'), Zach Gilford ('Friday Night Lights'), Ashley Springer ('Teeth'), Ana Gasteyer ('Mean Girls'), and Rooney Mara ('Nightmare on Elm Street'), along with Sandra Bernhard and Alan Cumming. Image will release the film in theaters this Fall, starting with New York and Los Angeles on November 13, 2009.

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) is proud to announce casting for the first production of its 2009-2010 season, the world premiere of Bekah Brunstetter's play OOHRAH!, directed by Evan Cabnet. The production will feature Cassie Beck, Sami Gayle, Darren Goldstein, J.R. Horne, Jennifer Mudge, Lucas Near-Verbrugghe and Maximilian Osinski.

In New York she has performed in workshops for Duncan Sheik's The Lighthouse Project, Michael John LaChusia's Giant and Scott Alan's Piece, and sang at Broadway's Acoustic Soul and Broadway Loves Country as the only performer not IN a Broadway show.

Vassar & New York Stage and Film's Powerhouse season will continue through Sunday, August 2, with the Mainstage play Vera Laughed (through 8/2); the Martel Musical Tina Girlstar (7/31 - 8/1); the ever-popular Readings Festival 2 (7/30 - 8/2); and a free concert reading by the Powerhouse Apprentice Company of the new musical Hello! The producers of Spring Awakening announced today that Jake Esptein, best known for his work as 'Craig' on the hit television series 'Degrassi: The Next Generation,' will take over the lead role of 'Melchior Gabor' in the national touring production of the Tony Award-winning musical, beginning July 7 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

Sundance Institute today announced the five projects chosen for the 2009 Sundance Institute Theatre Lab to be held July 7 -22 at the Sundance Resort in Utah.
