On November 18th and 19th at 7pm in New York City, Tony Award-nominated singer & actress Melissa Errico will return to Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette St.) in "Sing The Silence,' an entirely new, autobiographical cabaret show co-written with Adam Gopnik (The New Yorker) about how one singer's descent into 100 days of silence -- total silence -- compelled her towards an inventory of a lifetime's experience, on and off the stage. The show will include songs by women songwriters such as Georgia Stitt, Marcy Heisler, Jonathan Brooke, Susan Werner, Patricia Barber, Laura Nyro, Joni Mitchell and Dorothy Parker, as well as the title song written for Errico by Gopnik and Scott Frankel; and the New York debut of music by Jeanine Tesori. There is also a sprinkling of the classic American songbook by Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart, Sondheim & Mary Rodgers.

This weekend we have the rare treat of seeing a brand new play presented in our area that not only teaches us a lot about our history, but also thoroughly entertains. MR. WILL AND DUTCH: ALABAMA'S LEGENDARY BANKHEADS tell the story of Tallulah Bankhead (Dutch, a nickname given to her by her father, Mr. Will) and her family through the memories of her sister Eugenia. It is a delightful walk through time and reminds us of some of the best and worst of our state's past.

There Might Be... Stumble runs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7:30pm from June 9 - July 1 at The Side Project Theatre (an accessible theater at 1439 W. Jarvis Ave, just a block from the Red Line). The plays are both funny and melancholy, as the characters surprise each other, find each other, lose each other, argue, face existential crisis, and create. While touching on feminism, sexuality, religion, heath care, nudity, commodification, anti-intellectualism, marriage, and other hot-button issues, There Might Be... Stumble is more about people making personal choices in our political world, than it is about politics.
