Target Margin Theater will dedicate its 24th season to the exploration of works created by the great American novelist, poet and playwright, Gertrude Stein. The 2015 Season begins in January 2015 with The TMT Stein Winter Lab at The Bushwick Starr in Brooklyn, and concludes in May 2015 with the world premiere of Composition…Master-Pieces…Identity, a new performance piece from Obie Award-winner David Greenspan, and The TMT Stein Spring Lab, that will run in tandem at The Connelly Theater at the Cornelia Connelly Center in Manhattan.
Christopher Marlowe's 1587 epic Tamburlaine, Parts I and II, edited and directed by Olivier Award-winner Michael Boyd and starring John Douglas Thompson, opens Sunday, November 16, at 1:00pm at Theatre for a New Audience, Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place.
Since its founding in 1974 by Paul Zimet, Ellen Maddow, and Tina Shepard-all former members of Joseph Chaikin's seminal Open Theater- Talking Band has remained a cornerstone of New York City's avant-garde theater community. The Talking Band celebrates their 40th anniversary with The Golden Toad, a four-part epic whose world premiere La MaMa presents January 23 - February 8, 2015.

Target Margin Theater begins the new year with the launching of the new training program the Institute for Collaborative Theater Making, that will be a place where selected Fellows challenge themselves and the form of theater, ask what theater can be, and fearlessly embrace surprising and unexpected answers. Nigel Redden, director of the Lincoln Center Festival, and Rebecca Robertson, President and Executive Producer, Park Avenue Armory, today announced that the two organizations will co-present The Passenger, Mieczyslaw Weinberg's uncompromising 1968 opera about the Holocaust, performed by Houston Grand Opera and directed by David Pountney, in its New York premiere performances July 10, 12 and 13 at Lincoln Center Festival 2014. Pountney's production will have its U.S. premiere on January 18, 2014 at Houston Grand Opera.
