For season 1, Game of Thrones won 2 out of the 13 nominations for the 2011 Emmy Awards. That same year, the series won a number of other awards including three Scream Awards for Best TV Show, Best Supporting Actor (Peter Dinklage), and Breakout Performance - Female (Emilia Clarke). The HBO network has been consistently renewing the hit show every season for the following year as soon as the 1st episodes' rankings came in. To comply with this trend, they have recently once again renewed for season 4 to air in 2014.

EWonline reports that HBO's GAME OF THRONES has tapped indie rock band The Hold Steady to create a hit song for the series upcoming third season. The Brooklyn-based band will perform “The Bear and the Maiden Fair,” with lyrics by Martin and music by the show's composer Ramin Djawadi.

According to TorrentFreak.com, HBO's GAME OF THRONES was the most pirated TV shows of the year. Other series on the list included Dexter, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead.

GAME OF THRONES, HBO's fantasty epic, is set to receive an extra bump time-wise next season. Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that the third season of the televised adaptation of George R.R. Martin's series' will run a few minutes longer than in previous seasons.
