The producers of the smash hit Broadway production of WEST SIDE STORY announced today that the show has shattered the Palace Theatre box office record for highest weekly gross for two consecutive weeks. The record was held previously by LEGALLY BLONDE for the week ending 12/30/07 (Christmas week) with $1,219,488. For the week ending 4/5/09, WEST SIDE STORY broke that record with $1,234,652 and then last week, for the week ending 4/12/09, shattered its own record with an impressive weekly gross of $1,308,787.

Search for the City of Lost Toys,' starring the world's most famous Latina explorer, to New York from April 8 to April 12 for 12 performances. The last Dora 'Lost Toys' U.S. tour was seen by more than 1.2 million people during its 2003-2004 run. Sony Masterworks announced the upcoming release of the New Broadway Cast Recording of West Side Story. The recording will be available nationwide on June 2, 2009. The official opening of West Side Story, which took place at the Palace Theatre in New York City on Thursday, March 19, 2009, has been greeted with great critical acclaim and sold-out performances. The opening followed a pre-Broadway engagement at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C., where the musical made its original world premiere in 1957. The producers of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical have announced that the 37-member cast and band will go into the studio on Monday, April 6th, to record the show's new Broadway cast album. Production is being rushed for the highly anticipated recording which will be released officially this Spring by Ghostlight Records. The CD will be produced by Kurt Deutsch, Joel Moss & Galt McDermott with Bill Rosenfield acting as Executive Producer.
