'Pirate Radio' Comes to Theaters Across America, 11/13

Pirate Radio is the newest ensemble comedy from filmmaker Richard Curtis (screenwriter of Four Weddings and a Funeral and Notting Hill, and writer/director of Love Actually), spinning the irreverent yet fact-based tale of a seafaring band of rogue rock and roll deejays whose 'pirate radio' captivated and inspired 1960s Britain opens on November 13th.

Broadway's Cooper, Moore, and Mulligan to be Honored by Hollywood Film Festival

Broadway's Bradley Cooper, Julianne Moore, and Carey Mulligan are set to receive special honors from the Hollywood Film Festival at the Beverly Hilton on October 26th. Cooper will receive the Hollywood Comedy Award ("The Hangover"), Moore will receive the Hollywood Supporting Actress Award (for "A Single Man," among other films), and Mulligan will receive the Hollywood Breakthrough Actress Award for her performance in "An Education."

McKellen and Stewart West End Bound WAITING FOR GODOT Begins Tour 3/5

Sean Mathias will direct Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot which is his first production as Artistic Director of the 2009 Theatre Royal Haymarket Company. Waiting for Godot will tour the UK prior to its opening in London in April.

Primary Stages Announces 25th Anniversary Season

Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director) has announced its upcoming 25th anniversary season of new works offering a 3-play series celebrating female playwrights. The 2009-2010 Season will see the world premiere of A Lifetime Burning by Cusi Cram, and the New York premieres of Happy Now? by Lucinda Coxon, and Night Watcher by Charlayne Woodard at Primary Stages at59E59 Theaters (59 East 59 th Street). In a statement, Casey Childs, Founder & Executive producer, said, 'Primary Stages hasalways had a commitment to playwrights and we have been lucky to help nurture andenjoy the success of many extraordinary women writers. Casting Complete for BAM's THE BRIDGE PROJECT, Performances Begin 1/2

Sam Mendes directs a transatlantic company of actors in a double-bill of classic works for The Bridge Project's inaugural 2009 season, which pairs a new version of The Cherry Orchard by Tom Stoppard with The Winter's Tale. A formidable transatlantic company and creative team will mount these two new productions for seven internationally renowned theaters. Simon Russell Beale leads the British/American cast, playing Lopakhin in The Cherry Orchard and Leontes in The Winter's Tale. He is joined by Sin?ad Cusack as Madame Ranevskaya and Paulina, Richard Easton as Firs and Old Shepherd, Rebecca Hall as Varya and Hermione, Josh Hamilton as Yasha and Polixenes, Ethan Hawke as Trofimov and Autolycus, and Paul Jesson as Gaev and Camilo.

Opening Night is October 30 with performances running through November 15th.

Stuhlbarg and Kind Confirmed for Coen Bro's 'A Serious Man'

Production begins today on location in Minnesota on A Serious Man, for Focus Features and Working Title Films. Joel and Ethan Coen, Academy Award winners for No Country for Old Men and Fargo, are writing, producing, and directing the film. Working Title co-chairs Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are executive-producing the film with Robert Graf, who has worked on the Coens' last six features in various producing capacities.
