True to form, the 45th Festival d'ete de Quebec has lined up top international stars and legends of rock along with the best of world music, indie-rock and folk. There will be room for nostalgia and delirium, for song, for emerging talent and a first this year, an all-electro night. Featuring Bon Jovi, Johnny Hallyday, The Offspring, Vincent Vallieres, Metric, Skrillex, Patrick Watson, Sarah McLachlan, Radio Radio, Aerosmith, Beirut, Ariane Moffatt, The Barr Brothers, LMFAO, Mastodon, Grimskunk, Inna Modja, City and Colour, Big Boi, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Oliver Mtukudzi and dozens more, July 5-15.

Ford's Theatre Society on June 3, hosted its annual black-tie gala at Ford's Theatre (511 10th Street NW). The evening included the presentation of the Lincoln Medal to Morgan Freeman and Elie Wiesel, two individuals whose extraordinary character, accomplishments and life work reflect Lincoln's legacy of leadership, service, humanity, wisdom, eloquence and vision. Now through March 31, Grammy nominee Bettye LaVette will bring her cabaret act to Cafe Carlyle. Performances take place Tues-Sat at 8:45 p.m. Cover Tues-Thurs: $70 per person ($40 bar; $120 premium); Cover Fri-Sat: $80 per person ($50 bar seating; $130 premium seating.

For the second year in a row the Anglo-New Yorker, SPOTTISWOODE, has been nominated by the Independent Music Awards for an album produced by the diabolical KENNY SIEGAL at Old Soul Studios. Last year, Spottiswoode was nominated for his plaintive and confessional solo record, PIANO 45, in the best adult contemporary album category. This year he has been nominated twice for WILD GOOSECHASE EXPEDITION.

Rosler's Recording Booth, written & produced by Don Rosler, has received a Best Concept Album nomination from the 11th Annual Independent Music Awards.

Landmark on Main Street proudly continues its Roots Rock Series with the Blues Legend Bettye LaVette on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 8 PM.

The Carlyle Hotel's legendary Café Carlyle just kicked off a concert series last night, January 10, featuring Tony winner Paulo Szot. Szot will ring in the New Year with an all new program in a three-week return engagement through January 28 with Billy Stritch, Musical Director.
