BBC Worldwide America Sales & Distribution and PBS announced today they have signed a deal that brings a second season of the critically-acclaimed British drama CALL THE MIDWIFE to PBS, with new episodes to start airing on March 31, 2013, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

National Theatre Live Will Broadcast THE MAGISTRATE, PEOPLE and More in 2013

The National Theatre of Great Britain's fourth season of National Theatre Live, the ground-breaking initiative to broadcast live performances from the National's stages to cinemas worldwide, will continue in 2013 with Arthur Wing Pinero's The Magistrate on January 17, Alan Bennett's People on March 21 and James Graham's This House on May 16. Since its first season, which began in June 2009 with the acclaimed production of Phedre starring Helen Mirren, over one million people have now experienced the National's work on movie screens worldwide.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Benedict Cumberbatch has signed on to star in an upcoming biopic on Beatles manager Brian Epstein. Sherlock director Paul McGuigan has also signed on for the project, and Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman will produce under Playtone.
