THE JAMMER Extends Through 2/17; Opens Tonight

Atlantic Theater Company has just announced that the New York premiere of Rolin Jones' comedy THE JAMMER, directed by Jackson Gay, has now been extended through Sunday, February 17 in advance of officially opening tonight, Tuesday, January 22.

Dallas Theater Center Presents KING LEAR, Now thru 2/18

Dallas Theater Center will conclude its four-year Shakespeare cycle with one of the playwright's greatest tragedies King Lear, a co-production with Trinity Repertory Company and directed by DTC artistic director Kevin Moriarty. King Lear opens for previews tonight, January 18 and runs through Sunday, February 18.

KANE AND HABIL IN THE PIZZA PARLOR Plays La MaMa, Now thru 1/27

With humor and vision, 'Kane and Habil in the Pizza Parlor' (http://kaneandhabil.com) explores the original family sins that are still impacting our civilization. The title characters are the children of Adam and Eve. The play is a comedy, written and directed by Serge Ernandez. The production features an adept cast headed by Obie-winner Sheila Dabney as Eve, who also directs the play's chorus. Ernandez is a veteran of The Living Theatre; Dabney is a senior member of La MaMa's Great Jones Rep. La Mama E.T.C. will present the play's premiere run tonight, January 18 to 27 in its second-floor Club.

Deirdre O'Connell Stars in The Flea's THE VANDAL World Premiere, Now thru 2/17

The Flea Theater presents the World Premiere of The Vandal by Hamish Linklater. Obie and Drama Desk Award winner Deirdre O'Connell has replaced Holly Hunter in her role. This limited Off-Broadway engagement begins previews tonight, January 18 with opening slated for January 31. Tickets start at $45 and can be purchased online at www.theflea.org or by calling 212-352-3101.

Long Wharf Theatre will present the world premiere of Laura Jacqmin's new play January Joiner: A Weight Loss Horror Comedy, now through February 10, 2013 on Stage II. The production will be directed by Associate Artistic Director Eric Ting. The cast includes Ashlie Atkinson (Terry), Anthony Bowden (Brian), Tonya Glanz (April), Meredith Holzman (Myrtle), Maria-Christina Oliveras (Not-Terry), and Daniel Stewart Sherman (Darnell.) BETHANY Kicks Off Women's Project's 2012-13 Season at New York City Center Stage II Tonight

Women's Project, the 35-year-old non-profit theater dedicated to producing plays written and directed by women, will present its 2012-2013 season of new plays featuring women theater artists at a new home, New York City Center Stage II, 131 West 55th Street, tonight, January 11 to May 19, Julie Crosby, Producing Artistic Director announced.

A.R.T. Institute Presents Three One Act Plays by George Bernard Shaw, 1/18-26

The American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater School Institute for Advanced Theater Training continues its 2012-13 Season with George Bernard Shaw's three one-act plays entitled The Pretense of Morality Around the World, directed by A.R.T. Institute director Scott Zigler. The production runs January 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, and 26 at 7:30pm at Experimental Theater of the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge.

Atlantic Theater Company presents the New York premiere of THE JAMMER, written by Rolin Jones and directed by Jackson Gay. Performances begin tonight, January 9, 2013, at Atlantic Stage 2, 330 West 16th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues.

Attic Theater's THE MNEMONIST OF DUTCHESS COUNTY to Play Theatre Row, 2/8-3/2

The Attic Theater Company will present THE MNEMONIST OF DUTCHESS COUNTY, a new comedy written by Josh Koenigsberg (Herman Kline's Midlife Crisis, Al's Business Cards) and directed by Laura Savia, which will be performed at The Beckett Theatre -Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, at 9th Avenue) from Friday, February 8th through Saturday, March 2, 2013. THE MNEMONIST OF DUTCHESS COUNTY will open on Wednesday, February 13.

GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS to Run at Round House Theatre, 2/6-3/3

Round House Theatre launches the 2013 portion of its Bethesda season with David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross, which runs February 6 thru March 3. Mitchell Hébert directs this searing Pulitzer Prize-winner. Opening night is Monday, February 11, 2013.

Susan Louise O'Connor and More Join Cast of Abingdon's BODEGA BAY, 1/25-2/17

Abingdon Theatre Company - which has produced more than 78 new American plays in its 20-year history - continues its 2012-2013 Season with the world premiere of BODEGA BAY by Elisabeth Karlin (THE MOONCALF), set to begin previews January 25, prior to its official press opening February 3, at the Abingdon Theatre Company's Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Sturgis Warner, who recently helmed Najla Said's PALESTINE, directs. Performances run through February 17.
