Producers Letty Aronson and Julian Schlossberg have announced initial casting, preview and opening dates for the world premiere production of BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, the new Broadway musical adaptation of Woody Allen's and Douglas McGrath's screenplay of the 1994 film.

These performances will bring together noted industry professionals with Academy graduates who will perform in the series. The first production will be a staged reading of John Cariani's new play, Love/Sick, directed by Daniel Winerman and produced by Andrew Polk.

Danielle Skraastad to Lead The Old Globe's THE RAINMAKER; Full Cast Announced!

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the Globe's revival of N. Richard Nash's classic romantic comedyThe Rainmaker. Directed by Maria Mileaf, The Rainmaker will run July 13 - August 11, 2013 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run July 13 - July 17. Opening night is Thursday, July 18 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.TheOldGlobe.org, by phone at (619) 23-GLOBE or by visiting the Box Office at 1363 Old Globe Way in Balboa Park.

OJAI Playwrights Conference Announces Plays & Playwrights for 16th Season, 8/7-11

The Ojai Playwrights Conference (OPC), one of the most acclaimed new play developmental programs in the country, announces its 16th season with an extraordinary program of playwrights, new play workshops and special performance events from August 7 through 11, in Ojai, California. The OPC Summer New Works Festival will feature eleven events over five days with established and up-and-coming playwrights. Participating in this year's conference with new works are Luis Alfaro, Lucy Alibar, Richard Cabral, Samuel D. Hunter, Sean Lewis, Jiehae Park, Laura Schellhardt and David Wiener.

Orchard Project Launches HACKATHON, 6/22-23

More than ten teams of artists and technologists will collaborate to create new 'experience apps,' concepts, and prototypes this weekend at the inaugural Orchard Project Hackathon, the Artistic Director of the Exchange and the Orchard Project, Ari Edelson, announced today. Over the course of the weekend, teams will be challenged to develop technologies that advance the artistic form. The Orchard Project Hackathon will take place in the Catskill Preserve in Upstate New York from June 22 - 23, 2013.

Quotidian Theatre Company to Present D.C. Premiere of THE BIRDS, 7/12-8/11

Following the best-selling musical James Joyce's The Dead and the critically-acclaimed drama A Walk in the Woods, Quotidian Theatre Companycloses their 15th anniversary season with the D.C. area premiere of The Birds - celebrated playwright Conor McPherson's unique, morally-challenging adaptation of the Daphne du Maurier short story that inspired Alfred Hitchcock's film. Quotidian's co-founder and artistic director Jack Sbarbori directs actors Jenny Donovan, Stephanie Mumford, Ted Schneider, and Matthew Vaky in the production, which runs July 12 - August 11, 2013 at The Writer's Center (4508 Walsh Street, Bethesda, MD).

According to posts on their Facebook pages, Broadway couple Nikki Renee Daniels and Jeff Kready welcomed a baby girl, Lena Renee Kready, into the world at 6:58 this morning. 'Mother and daughter are doing fine. Father is delirious,' Kready wrote on his Facebook page.

Caroline Aaron, Michelle Beck, Peter Grosz and Carla Gugino will be featured in the cast of the upcoming LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater world premiere production of A KID LIKE JAKE, a new play by Daniel Pearle, directed by Evan Cabnet. A KID LIKE JAKE opens tonight, June 17 and runs through Sunday, July 14 at the Claire Tow Theater, 150 West 65 Street.

The Exchange's Artistic Director, Ari Edelson, has announced the artists and companies who participating in the 2013 Orchard Project Summer Residencies. An unprecedented twenty-one companies, teams, and individual artists have been selected from hundreds of applicants to develop new work at The Exchange's Orchard Project. The Orchard Project (Ari Edelson, Artistic Director, Dean Strober, Executive Director) runs now through June 29, 2013 in New York's Catskill Mountain Preserve.

Philadelphia Young Playwrights to Launch Paula Vogel Mentors Project

Philadelphia Young Playwrights has kicked off its 25th anniversary celebration by announcing the launch of the Paula Vogel Mentors Project, a living award honoring the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and teacher and extending her mentorship legacy. The three-year pilot program will bring together five acclaimed professional playwrights as mentors for five promising young playwright fellows, who will embark on yearlong playwriting journeys.
