Geva Theatre Center's 2018-2019 Fielding Studio Series concludes with The Royale, written by Marco Ramirez. This production comes to Geva from the Kitchen Theatre Company in Ithaca, N.Y., with the original cast and design team and is directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh. The production begins performances on April 11 and runs in the Fielding Stage through April 28.

The Playwrights Realm announces the 10th Anniversary INK'D Festival of New Plays (April 2019), the annual showcase of new works by The Realm's Writing Fellows. When impulsive entrepreneur Wes buys a dilapidated building in the French Quarter of New Orleans, he's magically transported to its glory days: the UpStairs Lounge in 1973. Serving as a home, a church, and a gay dive-bar, the UpStairs was its own kind of paradise.  As Wes meets the larger than life lounge regulars, he learns what has been gained and lost in the fight for equality, and how the past can help guide all of us through an uncertain future.

CAPE FEAR REGIONAL THEATRE is bringing the deliciously southern play 'THE CAKE' to it's stage April 4-21. Written by Bekah Brunstetter, Supervising Producer of NBC's hit show 'THIS IS US', this timely comedy comes to CFRT after successful runs throughout the country, including making its regional premier at Brunstetter's alma matter UNC-Chapel Hill (PlayMakers Repertory Company). CFRT will present the show just a few days after the highly acclaimed Off-Broadway run at the Manhattan Theatre Club closes. CFRT is among some of the first regional theatres to produce 'THE CAKE', proving its place as one of North Carolina's premiere theatres.

From the lobby of its home at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, Philadelphia Theatre Company announced its 45th Anniversary Season last night. Producing Artistic Director Paige Price and Managing Director Emily Zeck announced PTC's slate for 2019-2020, their second producing season at the helm of the theatre. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel's Indecent, will make its Boston premiere featuring the Tony Award-winning direction by Rebecca Taichman, a seasoned Broadway design team and many members of the original Broadway cast.

Producers Suzanne Gilad & Larry Rogowsky announced today that the hit musical comedy THE OTHER JOSH COHEN will end its extended Off-Broadway run at the Westside Theatre on April 7, 2019. A National Tour will launch in 2020, cities and dates will be announced at a later date.

Nobel and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Toni Morrison's first novel comes to life at the Wells Theatre. The Bluest Eye, directed by Khanisha Foster, follows the story of young Pecola in 1940's Ohio who is pregnant at her father's hands. She is taken in by a loving family and cared for by brilliant and kind sisters, Frieda and Claudia. The character-driven play, both poetic and daringly funny, illuminates the destructive powers of racism and class dynamics while exploring the power of community through exquisite storytelling. The Bluest Eye is produced in collaboration with Norfolk State University Theatre Company.
