Vampingo Productions has announced that it will present a condensed (75-minute) presentation of Buzz...Son of a Bee, a new musical comedy spotlighting the actor's life - featuring a book by Andrew Johns, lyrics by Ariana Johns and music by Darryl Curry. If you need further proof of his brilliance (a word I don't use to describe people very often), even after witnessing it first-hand in his earlier plays - like the noirish Rear Widow, the imaginative Larries or the compelling Long Way Down - then get yourself as quickly as humanly possible down to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Andrew Johnson Theatre and allow yourself to be immersed in his latest work of stage wizardry: the challenging, enlightening and provocative Good Monsters.

Nashville Repertory Theatre stages the world premiere of GOOD MONSTERS, a psychological drama centering on an off-duty police officer involved in the shooting of an unarmed teen. GOOD MONSTERS begins its run today, February 13 in Johnson Theater at Tennessee Performing Arts Center. The production will play its final performance on February 27.

Nate Eppler is, arguably, the best playwright now pursuing his art in Nashville - and with his latest work, Good Monsters, opening tomorrow night at TPAC's Andrew Johnson Theatre, he finds himself squarely back in the spotlight. It is, after all, the world premiere production of his newest, perhaps most controversial and provocative, play.

Final names are announced today for Seasons of Larson, a one-off concert celebrating the life and music of legendary Broadway composer Jonathan Larson. The concert will take place on Monday 25 January 2016 at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue.

Nashville actor and NFL Hall of Famer Eddie George, who makes his Broadway debut Tuesday night in the iconic musical Chicago, was named First Night's Outstanding Leading Actor in a Play for his searing portrayal of a former slave haunted by the spectre of abuse in Nashville Repertory Theatre's The Whipping Man. Rene Dunshee Copeland, producing artistic director of Nashville Rep, was named Outstanding Director of a Play, while her three-actor ensemble (which included James Rudolph and Matthew Rosenbaum) were awarded as First Night's Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Play for their rendition of the Matthew Lopez play.

Tennesseans come from a long line of storytellers - it's in our collective DNA, it seems, what with the state being home to the National Storytelling Festival, among other things - and Chambers Stevens (the 2012 First Night Honoree who co-founded Nashville Shakespeare Festival) is no different. In fact, for generations, members of his family have entertained those around them with stories both far-fetched and resolutely true.

The eagerly awaited European premiere of the Broadway musical GREY GARDENS, based on an iconic 1975 documentary, tells the spectacular real life rise and fall of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis's aunt and cousin, Edith and Edie Bouvier Beale. The production began a 6-week season in The Large at Southwark Playhouse from on 2 January and officially opens tonight 7 January 2016.

?TADA! will kick off its 2016 season with THE GUMBALL GANG: Crime-Solving Kids, from January 22 - February 15 at TADA! 15 West 28th Street. The original musical, with Book, Music & Lyrics by JIM COLLERAN, will be Directed & Choreographed by TADA!'s Associate Artistic Director & Resident Choreographer, JOANNA GREER, with Musical Direction by MATTHEW GREGORY. Set Design is by Carl Tallent, Lighting Design by Steve O'Shea & Costume Design by Cheryl McCarron.  Julia Nichols Stage Manages & Assistant Director/Assistant Stage Manager is Christina Franklin (TADA! alum).
