A year-long series running February 2017 - January 2018 Inspired by Ta-Nehisi Coates' 2014 article, "A Case for Reparations," the Brooklyn-based cultural hub JACK launches Reparations365: From Memory To Movement, a year-long series of performances, workshops and discussions around the topic of distributive justice for Black Americans.
Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct the New York Philharmonic in a program celebrating John Adams's 70th birthday year, featuring John Adams's Harmonielehre and Absolute Jest - with the New York Philharmonic String Quartet as solo ensemble in its debut - on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, March 11 at 8:00 p.m.

BRIC is pleased to welcome Swedish psychedelic rock outfit Dungen to BRIC House on March 16 for two performances. At this show, they'll perform their dazzling original score to the 1926 film The Adventures of Prince Achmed. Weaving music into the storytelling seamlessly, Dungen grabs at jazz, folk, and classical influences, taking you on journey through what is understood to be the oldest surviving animated film.

From February 9-11, The Kitchen presents Raul De Nieves and Colin Self's The Fool. Constructed as a chamber opera scored in four acts for chorus and string ensemble, The Fool is an allegorical journey drawing an ante-narrative around time, beauty, communion and mortality.
