Positive Motions Concert Series Presents "FOR ALL OUR MOTHERS," 5/8

Positive Motions Foundation in association with the Glendale Philharmonic Association and Positive Motions Concert Series, Ruslan Biryukov, Producer and Artistic Director, will present 'FOR ALL OUR MOTHERS,' a concert in honor of Mother's Day, to be presented on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Glendale; 209 N. Louise Street (at Wilson Avenue); Glendale, CA 91206.

Tomlin Hosts NCFT Gala; Honors Lane & Lee, 4/19

National Corporate Theatre Fund (NCTF) will hold its Annual Chairman's Awards Gala and benefit on Monday, April 19 at the St. Regis New York hotel. This year, NCTF Chairman James S. Turley, Chairman & CEO of Ernst & Young, will honor Nathan Lane (returning to Broadway this season in The Addams Family), set designer Eugene Lee (Wicked) and Wells Fargo & Company. Accepting the award on behalf of Wells Fargo will be Joe Kirk, Regional President for New York and Connecticut. All net proceeds of the event will be distributed as the NCTF/WELLS FARGO FUND FOR NEW AMERICAN THEATRE.

Colin Donnell, Stephanie Umoh & More Set For ART's JOHNNY BASEBALL 5/14-6/27

The American Repertory Theater is pleased to announce the cast for Johnny Baseball, a world premiere musical about the Red Sox, with music by Robert Reale, lyrics by Willie Reale, book by Richard Dresser, story by Richard Dresser and Willie Reale, with musical direction and vocal arrangements by Wendy Bobbitt Cavett; musical arrangements by Bruce Coughlin.

Boston Critics Announce Noms For Elliot Norton Awards

The Boston Theater Critics Association has announced its nominees for this year's Elliot Norton Awards, which recognize excellence in Greater Boston theater. The awards will be given at the 28th annual ceremony, to be held at 7 p.m.

ART, HTC & ICA Celebrating EMERGING AMERICA 5/14-16

The American Repertory Theater, Huntington Theatre Company, and the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston have joined forces for the first time to create Emerging America - an annual festival devoted to supporting and launching new voices in American theatre. From May 14 through 16, Emerging America brings some of the country's most promising performers, writers, companies and directors to Boston for a weekend filled with energy, imagination, creativity and drama.

TRTC Closes the Curtain on the World Premiere of ORESTES, A TRAGIC ROMP, 4/11

Following a highly successful run at the Folger Theatre in Washington D.C., Two River Theater Co. will close the curtain on the world premiere of Orestes A Tragic Romp, Anne Washburn's razor sharp modern adaptation of the Greek tragedy by Euripides, directed by Two River Artistic Director Aaron Posner on April 11th.

Central Square Theater Announces 2010-2011 Season, Opens 10/7

Crossing cultures and performance styles, Central Square Theater unveils its third and most dynamic season yet, featuring a World Premiere musical, a Haitian folktale by Derek Walcott, a beautiful trilogy about the Israel-Palestine conflict, and a classic by Eugene O'Neill.

Edie Falco and Alison Pill to Star in NAKED ANGELS' This Wide Night, Opens 5/16

Two-time Golden Globe and three-time Emmy Award-winner Edie Falco and Tony nominee Alison Pill will star in the NAKED ANGELS-produced American premiere of This Wide Night, by Blackburn Prize-winning playwright Chloe Moss, directed by Anne Kauffman. Previews begin May 8, 2010 and the play will officially open at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street) on May 16, 2010. This Wide Night will run through June 20, 2010.

The American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater Institute for Advanced Theater Training presents The Skin of Our Teeth by Thornton Wilder, directed by Scott Zigler, and performed by the Institute Class of 2010. The production is presented at Club Oberon, 2 Arrow Street, corner of MassachusettsAve., Harvard Square, Cambridge.

Cleveland Play House Ends Run of EMMA3/21

A world premiere adaptation of Jane Austen's romantic comedy Emma by Artistic Director Michael Bloom will end its run at the Cleveland Play House on March 21st.

The Nora Theatre Company Will End its Run of Not Enough Air, 3/14

Local playwright Masha Obolensky's new play Not Enough Air will end its run at the Nora Theatre Company March 14th. Not Enough Air tells the riveting story of two women: one on trial for murder, the other a writer determined to tell her story. Performances of the show began February 11th.
